just curious if anybody's in the neighborhood of 150% crb, 75+ defense, 55+ efg (weighted), 70+ ast% in their SL

you know I’ve been on the cusp, not just in this league but in others. I don’t think the answer is more boards, but what is it? Either there’s something to the idea of having more 3s than I usually have while maintaining efficiency, low TOs and D, or I need still more boards or assists. But I can’t imagine starting more than 130% and still needing something else. I don’t understand why I didn’t get over the hump with the last squad. There has to be one more piece to the puzzle. I thought last season’s team was perfect, but apparently it wasn’t.
I feel yah on this, I've made that playoffs 185 times and Ive only won 4 championships.

Basically, from what I've seen from more successful owners, you gotta prioritize these things in this order.

Efg
Def
Reb
3PA
TOs
Fouls

All while making sure you minimize or dont have any usage penalties and meet minimum Ast thresholds. But I would love to hear from someone more successful then me.

Ive begun prioritizing TOs more with some moderate success but I don't think its the answer im looking tor either.

C - Tree Rollins/Chris Andersen
PF - Tim Duncan
SF - Larry Nance/David West
SG - Khris Middleton
PG - Dwayne Wade

I still need more threes, but I should be able to knock those out with filling up the 33 backup minutes at SG/PG

This is my first time doing this league so I feel like I am on a steep learning curve, and if I don't learn quickly I will get my *** severlykicked. So, to this point I felt like I was drafting a solid team with Charlie Ward, Gary Payton, Elton Brand, Anthony Davis, and Rudy Gobert. And here is where I crash and burn with my 6th pick of Troy Murphy. I needed some solid boards and certainly some 3's from my front 3. I have plenty of defense, so it seemed like Murphy was a good fit, but I believe he might have been a bad pick as I don't believe I have seen him drafted recently in this league. Thoughts? Feedback?

was a time when Murphy would have gone in the late 2nd (of course he had a 90d back then) - with the other guys you have on your squad you can hide him, probably (says the guy who just added Carlos Boozer to his roster)

I once won a championship in this league with Murphy as (by far) the worst defender in my starting 5. I think the lineup was Dwight Howard, Troy Murphy, Horace Grant, Chauncey Billups, and a SG who wasn't drafted this time and is solid but doesn't bring 3s. I don't see any problem with your adding Murphy to your lineup.

How do you hide a Ha! on defense?

LTB is correct and I remember that team well that he took the title with that season. It's always interesting when I am seeing players drafted that haven't been for a few seasons at least. This is fun to watch but makes it difficult to figure out what players will be there for me at the last 2 spots.

having buyers remorse on the Butler pick and there's a guy still out there who I'd rather have instead... oh well

I really like how my team turned out this time around. I feel my Rebounding could be a weakness especially when the bench is out but other than that I am feeling pretty good.

Well the nice thing about Butler is he has a very usable 361-minute season if the other guy stays undrafted
4/23/2021 9:51 AM
How I ended up:

PG: Ginobili/Butler
SG: Iguodala/undrafted
SF: Outlaw/undrafted
PF: Giannis/Embiid
C: Jokic/Embiid/undrafted

Other than Jokic, every drafted player has 80+ defense, so should be good there. Pretty good on defensive rebounding, little light on offensive rebounding. Plenty of assists and good efg%, so should score pretty well. The biggest concern: fouls and turnovers.

Evaluations

It's been a busy week, but I have the day off to recover from Pfizer #2. (Hydrate and don't let that extra strength Tylenol wear off) I'm just going to start with vancem and go through everyone's top 5 picks and then circle around at the end.
Still working my way through the evaluations, fellas. Taking longer than expected. I know most of the teams are totally drafted, but I’m still evaluating the first 5 picks before I circle back and finish up with your bench or 5th starter. I’ll also go through this thread and check out the specific seasons you’re using before finishing.

My team is drafted, so if anyone wants to jump in and remind me how ridiculous my draft strategy was, feel free. The more the merrier.

It’s probably going to look like this:

Simmons/Harden/Undradted
Harden/McGrady
Marques/ McGrady
Okafor/Millsap
Drummond
