Appreciate the shoutout ozo. This 1908 BoSox team is really holding me back though. If not for that team (mostly my putrid offense full of failing cookies) I’d have a .548 win %, good for 2nd place

I didn't have a coherent strategy for that part of it, and based on some of the reactions in the immediate aftermath, I was worried I'd completely blown it, but putting together a good roster and managing that roster well was always going to trump a marginally easier side of the league, and it seems I've done a decent job of that so far.

I'm still learning how to play against this level of competition, and often feel I don't know what I'm doing, but I'm beginning to realize most of the other owners don't really know what they're doing either, or at least aren't nearly as smart as they think they are. I don't know much, but I do know that when you start becoming convinced you're smarter than the other owners and any lack of success must be due to bad luck and not your own mistakes, you're completely screwed.

It's the difference between an idiot and a moron. Everyone's an idiot, me included. I made all sorts of mistakes in roster selection and day to day roster management, and will continue to make such mistakes despite my best efforts. A moron, though, is an idiot who doesn't realize he's an idiot. As long as I don't act like a moron, I should be OK.

Ugh. Two 1-5 sessions in a row with the playoffs on the line, and both wins were by my long-eliminated 05 Yankees squad.

doctorcc is a mystery to me. Clearly a top owner but a confusing WISC journey

Haha sounds about right. To add further intrigue, my teams in contention are all simultaneously fading over the last twenty games. My $120m clinched a while ago but my $110, $130, and $160 all lost the pm games today. Depending on how the pm2 games shake out, I could be playing THREE one game tiebreakers. One game left and I could have anywhere from one to four playoff teams.

The phrase "I've got a bad feeling about this" is heard all too often these days, but...I've got a bad feeling about this.

$110m: I have the division clinched and nothing to play for, jfranco needs a win to clinch the wild card. I win and jfranco is in a one-game playoff.

$130m: I am eliminated, jfranco needs a win to tie for the wild card. I win and jfranco is eliminated.

$160m: I am tied for the division lead, jfranco is eliminated. jfranco wins and I am eliminated.
