For me, a divided (balkanized) America is simply not a world power, certainly not one that can compete with China. It's a self-defeating idea, I think. But am I wrong?

A sizeable part of the Republican party hates America so much that they want to secede from it and kill Americans again.

Is peaceful secession possible? Two countries with different ideologies peacefully exist?

To be fair, I don't believe Limbaugh called for war - only separation.

Trouble is there are too many individual States split down the middle here. California and Arizona, probably Montana and Missouri, likely others would be divided. Stridently divided, sometimes within families. Much like the Civil War (see Missouri circa 1860-65). Hell, Idaho would prefer to be in the South, aligned with Alabama and Mississippi.

Besides, what makes you think any liberal would give enough of a crap about "ignorant nutjob secessionists Southerns and such"? Let 'em go, might be the predominate attitude.

Sure, let the states that depend on the welfare of California’s and New York’s taxes secede. Whatever.

I can’t wait for the first batch of right wing lunatics to get SMASHED back into their holes by the military if they try some stupid **** like this. All those threats and bravado of the KFC Militia will go out the window faster than the chicken bones on personal bucket night.

I don’t WANT to see idiots start insurrection violence, but I am thoroughly confident that if they do, they will get put down post haste. I will also LOVE seeing it happen to the ACTUAL traitors if they’re STUPID enough to persist with their dumbfuckery.
