OK... I'm looking down my list of pitchers, and deleting them as I read the selections. Guess what?.... NOT A ONE left on the list. Boy do I regret not taking a pitcher in the first round. OK enough whining... I'll take Dennis Eckersley.

Just throwing this out for discussion ...

Do you think it's a disadvantage to select a player you know shares seasons with another HOF already selected, knowing that you can't use the other guy(s)? (As an example, both Whitey Ford and Mickey Mantle have been picked, and their careers overlapped almost entirely.)

I mean, your divisional draft will be weaker by one star, which hurts your whole division's relative strength somewhat, but there's no way of knowing who would end up with the player anyway. I'm just wondering if people are using this in their thinking process, if anyone cares to chime in.

Probably a good move. I was thinking about holding off just in case, considering the pace of this draft, Mariano Rivera may have become available.

So in a case where say whitey and mantle or say lefty grove and jimmy fox .. are in different divisions , does that mean both divisions can draft all the other yankees or A s for that year .. except the hall of famers ?

I can see how some strategy could go into this, however I picked Rickey cuz I had the opportunity to see him play in person quite a bit in Oakland and always liked his on field swag. I picked Feller cuz I'm from Iowa lol

That is the way I understand it. . . .each 4-team division can take anyone from those 4 rosters except any of the 48 HOF's that were initially drafted.
