I'd download and play those Wolverine Draft Day games and play around with them a little if they were free but they cost a ton.

It's a shame that Solecismic Sports stopped making games. Front Office Football: The College Years is the best sports sim ever made, imo. The recruiting was the best any game has ever had.

I've tried them and I dislike them. Since we're guests in WIS's house, I'll leave it at that.

Have you played the baseball sim here?
I've played both HBD and OOTP. I think HBD is a good game but I got bored with it after a handful of seasons. OOTP holds my interest better.

Agreed.

Curious about OOTP's new football project...

Of all the college basketball sims out there, the best is still probably HD, which says a lot about what's out there...the only competitor was honestly the College Hoops games. I admit I still play College Hoops 2K7 and 2K8 from time to time.

SIM baseball is pretty solid. The managerial settings are poor but the GM aspect is awesome. Their normalization system for cross era games is pretty solid, IMO.

I probably played 150+ seasons in progressives which are replays of seasons where you keep your team year after year and have a draft of the rookies coming in. It was pretty neat to replay 50 years of MLB history. I had Early Wynn win something like 370 games in his SIM career.

The biggest issue is that WIS doesn't really support running those leagues, it's a bear to organize, VERY time consuming, and prone to mistakes. There's also no SIM option so you need 24 committed owners. When guys drop out it's a pain in the *** to get someone to take over a real ****** team.

OOTP reddit page with almost 5,000 subscribers. Impressive. Never heard of it before but seems really cool.

I repurchased a PS3 just so I could play College Hoops and College Football.

You should definitely give it a try, Benis. It is a bit pricey, but totally worth it, in my opinion. The historical leagues alone are worth the price of admission.

I'm thinking about the previous years version. Only 20 bucks on steam.

I think they stopped development on a football game. Says it will come out in 2015...

That's a good idea. See if you enjoy it. Prepare for a decent learning curve; with depth like that, it's a lot to take in at first.
