yatzr's recruiting tool v1.9.3 - another bugfix Topic

Guys ... I want to say that if you are using the "Free Version" of the recruiting tool and are not using the "Mass Recruiting", "Update Multiples", and "Grab Message" functions, you do not know what you are missing.

This tool, along with the other Mass Recruiting Action tool, are amazing.  I highly recommend you donate to yatzr and give the payed version a try.  I don't even use the WIS search page at all any more, and I barely even use the recruiting summary page now.

I totally agree Johnny. Yatzr has made a great recruiting tool. We have some great guys on here to take a bit out of their every day life to help us others save time to put more into out home life. I would like to thank you all that have made the time to create these tools to help us recruit in such a timely manner.

Thanks guys.  With the response I've gotten so far, I'm really glad I decided to finally share this stuff.  Not even for the donations (although they make a good excuse to tell the wife "Hey, I gotta go work on this to appease the people giving us money"), but more just to see the tools get appreciated.  I was actually wanting to quit GD awhile back, but I didn't want the tools to go to waste.

Props to you yatzr.   These are great tools and might actually let me lose my job for reasons other than spending too much time on GD .  Seriously, with work getting crazy, I love the way these let me maximize my time.

THANK YOU!!!!

I am having problems getting a jar file.

I have downloaded the recruiting tool and this is what I have in the file I set up.

yatzr_recruit_tool_1.4           File folder
config                                       Configuration settings                4 KB
permTeams.dat                     DAT File                                    322 KB
towns.dat                                 DAT File                                 1,529 KB
yatzr_recruit_tool_1.4           Compressed (zipped)          4,142 KB

The file folder for the recruit tool was created when I extracted (unzipped) it. When I click on the file folder I get a list of files as follows:

These are all file folders:
action
com
gui
META-INF
model
org
share
util

These are listed as Executable Jar Files:

activation-1.1
gnujaxp
jcommon-1.0.16
js-1.6R5
jtidy-4aug2000r7-dev
junit-3.8.1
mail-1.4
nekohtml-0.9.5
servlet-api-2.4
servlet-api-2.4_2
swtgraphics2d
xercesImpl-2.6.1
xmlParserAPIs-2.6.1

Please assist. I would like to check this out, but not sure what is wrong or what I am doing wrong.

Thanks
Don

Just FYI..

Downloaded the new version, setup a new season. Selected 'Grab Recruit's Towns' and then hit 'Update Recruits'. It completed, then I realized I didn't hit 'Grab Out of Vision' so I selected that, too. The only option not selected was 'Update signed players'. I hit 'Update Recruits' and I noticed it was telling me it was updating signings (even though it's unchecked).

djarelt - If you're using Internet Explorer, for some reason it likes to change .jar files to .zip.  So where you have yatzr_recruit_tool_1.4.zip...that's supposed to be yatzr_recruit_tool_1.4.jar.  I don't know why IE does this, I don't think any of the other browsers do.  IE is just dumb.  You'll need to either rename it to be .jar or download it with a different browser.

nshreders - I'll look into that.  It's possible the progress message is just wrong.  I sort of hacked that together really fast to try to give people an indication that it was doing something.

Yatzr, you need to make your own game engine. I do graphic design and internet marketing for a living, I will design and market the site for free

As much as I'd love to make my own football sim, I don't have the time for it.  Unless I win the lottery and can retire, I don't think I'll be making my own any time soon.

I'll buy 10 seasons before you even start development.

Any chance you can find the mean and median of the GPA's?  Or include that as a category in the next recruiting tool?
Apparently, it's really important now.
