I've gotta admit, I'm pleasantly surprised by my team in Game 1. Hope they keep it up.

Another solid slate of Top 25 games on night 2.

#2 Charleston -9 @ #24 Felician
#5 Longwood -2 @ #16 Concord
#7 Harding -1 @ #13 Limestone

We could have pulled the upset over IW, but only managed to hit 21 of 48 free throws.

We were lucky, but interesting foul distribution.  Each side fielded two players with DEF at 20 or below.  In a game that featured a combined 65 fouls, only 1 of the 4 had more than 2 fouls.  (I was hoping Weisenberger would get in foul trouble since he can light it up)

65 fouls (36 IW, 29 Bowie) results in only one player fouling out with 42 seconds left.  86 combined free throws.  Yawn.  The game took 3 and a half hours to play, we missed our flight back home.

So far on the early season Incarnate Word is looking very, very strong.  In 6 games IW has been challenged just once, when New Jersey Tech took them to OT.  In the other 5 games IW has won all by at least 10 and by an average of 22.2 points.  4 of IW's 6 wins have been over top 25 teams.

UW Parkside has also looked very, very strong, winning its 6 games by an average of 22.8, including 2 over top 25 teams.

Of course, Longwood is up to their usual tricks, with a perfect 6-0 record and 3 wins vs. the top 25.

I'm looking forward (but not ahead) to our matchup with Longwood to conclude non-con and the Challenge.

I had Longwood on the ropes. Just couldn't finish him.

Great game last night between Longwood and St. Mary's. Both are looking like strong contenders this year.

Yes, that may be a preview of a final four game.

Definitely looked like a heavyweight title fight.  That was a hard fought game by both sides.  We were lucky to come out on the winning end.  Longwood had 5 more made basekts, and 3 of those were 3-pointers.  However, St. Mary's shot 31-for-37 from the charity stripe and Longwood shot 15-for-19.  Both great percentages, but somehow St. Mary's got more calls on the road and that made the difference.

First projection report has the 1 seeds as of today at Longwood, Incarnate Word, Wisconsin Parkside and St. Mary's TX. Do you think that will change by the end of the season or do they have it right?

Those are the 4 best teams right now in my opinion, though I think that NJ Tech is a lot better than their record indicates. Wisc-Parkside is built very similarly to my Longwood team, in my opinion.
