Why would Mariners do that though? One year of Cespedes isn't worth Iwakuma, even if Iwakuma is a pending FA too. Upton would be a much better option for them.

That's not shabby but it's not his career line.    I think that's more representative of what you'll get for the next four years.   I'll add that he averaged 116 games played in those 4 years. 

That said, it's a 4 year deal.   More palatable than some 6-7 year crap.
