The seeding seems like it does not necessarily follow rpi too closely based on all these examples.  Do you guys think that wins are more important than scheduling tough? Or is getting a couple big time wins worth the risk of possibly losing a couple extra games when it comes time for tournament seeding?

I have admittedly not followed the formula they use for some time.

However....

RPI 16
25-4 record
10-0 in last 10 (actually 19 straight wins)
4 wins against Top 50 (of the three teams in my example, Humboldt St. had 2, E. New Mexico had 4 and Mercy had 3)
Conference Regular Season and Tournament Champions (Humboldt St. didn't even make the Conf Champ Game)

I can't think of any conceivable reason my team is seeded so low, especially with those.

Yea referring back to my post about Winstom Salem, they were 23-6, have an rpi of 17, and 7 wins against top 50 rpi and he got a 9 seed

I feel like seeding used to follow RPI more closely but now the projection will tell you where you're going to be seeded.  And it seems # of wins is far more important than SOS.

I'm calling a #16 upset tonight in the SW Oklahoma vs. Parkside.  A new coach @ SW oklahoma and I think he is finally good them playing there best basketball of the year.

I hit all my goals this season. Undefeated in conference and won CT. Coming off an Elite 8 year where I knew we weren't as good, I knew Yarnell was out of the question. It's all gravy from this point. A 4 seed, I'll take it... but there are no guarantees we'll advance. GL all.

That said, the South is ridiculously tough. I beat the #2 seed this year yet lost to the #14 seed. Tough fricking region.

Yup. He's behind one spot in RPI and has two less wins, but I think he has a bigger gripe than me.

Tough 2nd round matchup for St. Mary's tonight.  This one looks more like an elite 8 game than a round of 32 game.

They're all that way. D2 Iba is tough. I remember back in the day, Sweet 16 was where the tough games began and I was disappointed if I didn't make the Elite 8. That's not the case anymore. Every win in the NT these days is a celebration.

I'm shocked that noone is talking about my Bellarmine Knights. We're 14-14 and won our first round PIT match

We're not used to using "Bellarmine" and "PIT" in the same sentence.
