They send him back. In your needle in a haystack example.
So they pick him up, he says he’s a citizen but doesn’t have ID. BP can’t immediately verify anything.

And that’s it? He gets deported to Mexico without a chance to prove his case?

He has no ID, no story and he is sneaking in? LOL. They ask him probing questions and then make a decision. Empower your officers.

He says he’s a citizen. Shouldn’t he get due process?

I know it’s hard when you dig in during an internet argument to step back and reconsider, but try it. The right answer here isn’t “take away due process and leave everything up to the border patrol.” That’s bad and unconstitutional.

Trust but verify. I already told you that they would ask probing questions such as:
  • Why were you in Mexico?
  • Why don't you know your SS #?
  • Where did you leave your car?
  • What do you do for work?
  • Do you have any relatives that can vouch for you?
Your needle in a haystack example is insanity. Fact is more often than not..99.9% of the time these are people sneaking in and IMO due process is not for them.

look, there's all kindsa other stuff

he can spreche nicht

he can be autistic

but if he's two sigma american normal he has a story to tell that gets him back in the door

You also didn't answer my 2nd question. How would you improve current border security?

Without due process, we don’t know who is “them” and who is us.

No we do. Come on.

Due Process only verifies (mostly wastes time) of what we know.

Again my example is way more probable than yours. Most if not all US citizens would never sneak back in. They would either go to an embassy or cross via normal means. Typical Leftist, using an example that would likely never happen to prove a point.

How so? And why should innovation be the main way to decide whether a country is successful or not?

BTW, capitalism has innovation problems too. In Kansas big energy dominates. We have restrictions on solar panels that we can buy because that would hurt the big corporations.
You just don't get it. Why do I waste my time?
I don't get it. Explain it to me.
Through innovation you get:

Apple Phones
Electric Cars
Wireless home security
Medicinal cures and procedures

You get this because people want to be rich and hence innovation is their key to get there. First mover advantage. Socialism does not lend itself to innovation because the reward is not as great. There will still be altruistic people innovating but not as many as those in capitalist countries.

Do you know what a Venture Fund is?
1. Even if Democratic Socialism (Which is capitalism) isn't as good at innovation as free-market capitalism, there will still be plenty of free-market capitalists to innovate.
2. Even in a society like Scandinavia, people still want to be rich. If you play the lottery, your thought process wouldn't be that you will only be happy if you win the grand prize. Even if you win the 2nd best prize, you are still happy. Rich people in Democratic Socialist societies are still, well, rich. They still have better lives than the poor.

I have heard of the phrase, but I probably don't have the best grips as to what it is.
You are all over the place. So you want to live a simple and humble life and have others innovate for you. How European of you. Have the US back you militarily so you can concentrate on other things. OK.

What? That argument is all over the place. I made the argument that people will still innovate regardless. What about military?
They won't. We are done speaking. If I can't mock you then there is no point in us confabulating.

Please go away.
Do you agree that rich people still have it better in a social democratic society?

How about things that happen often? ICE raids a restaurant kitchen and arrests suspected undocumented immigrants. Do they get due process?

The police arrest someone with cocaine in their pocket. Does that person get due process?

YES and YES.

Apples and oranges.

Again, how would you improve our border defense?

Also, I think if someone is in this country, working, contributing to society, we need to have an expedited path to citizenship for these persons. I just want to draw a line in the sand. Fairly or unfairly that we stop here and now and no more illegals. The ones who made it in and are not criminals should be given a path to citizenship. 100%.
