17 Gobert is $8,450,590 for 2744 minutes. 15 DeAndre is $8,451,075 for 2820 minutes. The difference is small.
The difference is two points of usage. It's a pretty big deal.
I don't think it's as big a deal at this cap as it is in the ODL. In the ODL you have to think really carefully about committing too much money to a guy with really low usage because it will make your salary situation pretty ugly. It's not as big a concern with this cap.
I micromanage my usage allocation at every cap trying to optimize distribution of various things. It's not for everyone. Gobert is highly preferred for me because of the two points of usage at such a high efficiency. Hard to get that level of efficiency at the usage rate elsewhere, especially with such a high PNT%. Let's me do other things at the other scoring zones.

Andre Drummond stats are fun to look at. His 3 best full seasons all have different usage points of 4,2, and 1. I guess I will see how the rest of my team shapes up, and try to decide which Andre fits in best...

Pretty stoked to get 3 out of my top 24 players. Don't pick again until pick 105 though... so we will see how that goes.

I’m relatively sure the trade up for George is objectively crazy. But I still think George deserves to be picked in the second round, even though he was disappointing for me last season. The guys who have better efg% with tier 2 usage and 90 defense are pretty much all first round picks, and none of those guys have almost 300 threes. Plus his defensive rebounding % is great for a SG and he can defend 4-5 positions. Now after three picks I have efficient scoring, a good amount of usage, already over 60% assists, and defense covered. Really gives me a lot of flexibility in filling the roster out with my 4 6th round picks.

Both our teams are sitting in a pretty similar position right now. Interested to see how they end up.

Yeah. BTW, I would have taken Kawhi over George if I could have traded up ahead of your 2nd round pick. But I really wanted to get one of them.

Nash, Klay, Shaq. That’s one hell of a trio. The other two starters don’t matter all that much with efficiency like that.

With regard to efficiency, no. But the rebounding is weak at this point. Then again, there are board lords to be had in the later rounds. I’d also be concerned about defense (covering for Nash) but with that efficiency, high-scoring shootouts are their playground

my last 52 and odl team sucked in draft leagues i usually get between 35 and 45 wins no matter who i draft

Once I got MJ, my plan was to get Camby and Klay. Then I traded those picks for Timmy.

Turns out, Klay wasn’t going to be there anyway.

I thought George went a bit late in the last draft. I probably would have taken him with my first second round pick if he'd been available.

I had my threesome completed before almost everyone else, how come I'm the last to get a writeup?

My favorite threesomes so far, other than my own team, in no particular order: Gobert/Kidd/Mourning, Admiral/Wallace/Payton, Malone/Pippen/Deron Williams, Barkley/kawhi/Penny.

Items listed here are based on my personal preference only. It is really just spot drafted against where I have that player ranked. I am keeping the ntes really brief because 1) I am busy 2) I don't want to step on anyone else's toes. I did want to contribute though.

Round 1 - Biggest Steals
1) Michael Jordan - Jordan should always go in the top 6.
2T) Dwight Howard - I have Howard as the third best big man
2T) Chris Paul - Paul should go in the top 10.

Round 1 - Biggest Reaches
1) Kevin Garnett - I do not like using Garnett in this format.
2) Moses Malone - I know a lot of people love Moses, but I have him no better than back half of the first. He just has too many warts for me.
3) James Harden - People point to the TOs but it is a red herring since the sim uses TO% and not raw TOs. Because of his usage, Harden is only slightly below average in TOs. It is just too hard to optimize resources across other players with a usage profile that high.

Round 2 - Biggest Steals
1) Ben Wallace - DeAndre without the FG%.
2) Anfernee Hardaway - Should go in the back half of the first / beginning of the second.
3) Jason Kidd - He plugs a lot of holes without many warts.

Round 2 - Biggest Reaches
1T) Dwyane Wade - I have no use for a guard who doesn't shoot threes.
1T) Hakeem Olajuwon - I can't find a season without a glaring flaw that is worth a pick this high.
2T) Gary Payton - Same as Wade... I need my guards to shoot threes.
2T) Al Horford - Al is good but not this good.

Round 3 - Biggest Steals
1T) Tyson Chandler - Commonly featured on the best teams in draft leagues, Tyson is 96% of players who get drafted in the late 1st / early 2nd.
1T) Nikola Jokic - Doesn't play D and turns the ball over a lot... but elite every where else.
1T) Serge Ibaka - Slots in perfect on the right teams but not for everyone.

Round 3 - Biggest Reaches
1T) Julius Erving - I can't have a usage profile this high on a mid range focus.
1T) Larry Nance - Nance is good but I really like his lower minute season the best and this is too early for that.
2) Horace Grant - Grant is good but I think you can find similar players later.
