'96 Molitor is batting .281 against $140M league pitchers and .214 against $90M league pitchers.... Glad to see the SIM is sensible.....
There definitely are inconsistencies, but the parameters of the $90M theme could help explain that as well. A lot of A+ range players to take away hits, and a lot of errors to let hitters on base, that still count against their batting averages.

I have a similar issue with 88 Elton Chamberlain. On my $120M team, where I really NEED him to dominate, he is sucking it up to the tune of a 5.32 ERA and 1.56 WHIP, but in the $180 variable he is holding his own quite well (as usual).

Of course I did put the jinx on him in my $120M write-up, so there is that.

My first 5-1 session since Game 1! Still no schwarzes though (but also no mauchs). I think I got those terms correct?

$80M team: 0-0 game into the 12th...we score two, they score three to walk off.

$90M team: 5-5 game into the 11th...we score one, they score two to walk off.

$110M team: loses again to fall to 6-17 since a 5-1 start.

Not our best cycle.

1-16 after a 5-1 start is pretty rough.

Tough competition. A couple of bad outings has knocked my teams from tied for 8th to the bottom edge of the cage.

The bad news is that I thought my $110M team was going to be good... It isn't... And my round 2 team is significantly worse... I was all in for round 1. If Cobb can bring his avg up from .172, things might get a little better

I have 4 Ty Cobbs. '07 Cobb in $110M should be pretty good in theory--- He's hitting .172. '16 Cobb in the $90M is great. '17 Cobb stinks (.231/.281/.369) in the variable cap.... And $120 '11 Cobb is the 17th best Cobb out of 18 in my league

My '11 Cobb is 5 for 17 stealing in the variable cap despite being 94 speed and set at 1. And the catcher arms aren't as good in that league as in the 120, from what I can tell.

So of course he's 15 for 19 in the 120M league.

He's not earning his salary hitting in either of them.

Speed has nothing to do with stolen base success.

My best pick - bullpens. I am 55 SV in 73 SVO.

My worst pick - 2007 Barry Bonds for the Variable Cap League. An AVG+ of 104 has led to a .119 BA. And I could have had Al Simmons!

My favorite stat - My beloved garbage 4th outfielder Jim Lillie in the 120M league has 5 "+" plays in RF despite a B- range and is the Gold Glove leader.

It's early but, so far, out of the 12 owners who responded to the preseason poll by saying they'd definitely be in Round 2 there are only 7 who are in position to be.

In the $140M league, Willie Hernandez (13 HR in 108 RL innings) has already allowed 6 in 16.3 IP. 5 of those in 6.3 IP at home...where we play in a -2/-2 HR park.

He was a 67% success guy, which isn't great by any means but he should be better than 30%.

And I know speed ratings aren't supposed to factor in, but yet I never seem to get good SB success from guys with low speed who happened to be like 2 for 2 that season. They seem slowed down by something, or maybe the sim considers that sample size too small. I would rather not let them run than see them go 3 for 6 or something, because inefficient stealing is such a negative overall.

^ There is a minimum for Steals Attempted, something close to 10. If a player attempted fewer steals the program fills in the gap with mediocre success rate.
