^ There is a minimum for Steals Attempted, something close to 10. If a player attempted fewer steals the program fills in the gap with mediocre success rate.
That's good to know. One of those elusive pieces of information.

How do we create polls? Is my 140mil team really THAT bad?
6/19/2020 2:49 AM
From anyone in that league can I get an honest answer. I don’t think we’re THAT bad....we honestly aren’t fatigued at all...

I am encouraged that I am still really in this thing for the time being but being extremely cautious after last year's rocket start and subsequent massive crash. I will not suffer any pitcher fatigue issues so that is a positive. Only a couple teams with hitter fatigue, but not at any crisis level. 4 of 6 teams seem pretty solid but not spectacular with the $110M playing .500ish ball. The $140M team is my worst but still early to call it a complete albatross. There is time for it to right the ship. Hoping other owners are suffering fatigue in ways I can capitalize on but I know with if all things are equal, my lineups are never maximized to the dollar like the stat-oriented owners who usually dominate. Certainly not confident in my dreams to finally reach the cage, but at least heartened to still get excited each cycle to slowly scroll the play-by-plays...

Five of my teams are a combined 28 over .500. The sixth is 11 under. And I can't get em to perform.

For those that enjoy car crashes, avalanches, people falling off ladders, etc. I'd highly encourage you to examine my pitching staff in the 90MM league.

That team is quite likely going to lose in excess of 145 games. I wouldn't be surprised if that team ended up 6-156.

This was done to stop people from abusing 100% SB success guys in Live who only stole a few bases in real life.

Frustrating when you see the result of a game that you lost by 3 or 4 runs and you think "well at least I avoided an extra inning game there". . . only to open it up and see a 13 or 14 inning game that your mop-up had to come in to lose. Ugh.

Drafting 1208 innings will do that.

I can't imagine what the theme would have to be in order for 1208 IP's drafted and you are able to not go into the death spiral.

I don't know the best answer here, but maybe we need a mechanism that ensures competitive balance. We have a team in the variable cap that spent 114M and is 3-29. Wins are going to be slightly inflated for teams in leagues with completely noncompetitive teams that drafted way out of normal bounds, and that is inevitably going to impact standings.

My point is: Do we want "anything goes" to be the system we're playing under? And if not, how do we ensure fairness without restricting an owner's ability to build an unconventional team?

Seems like I remember discussing this before. It would have to be part of the theme rules. Min IP and Min PA per theme.

MIN IP:1250
MIN PA: 5100

But those minimums could still be hit with a low cap team in the variable theme.

The Min's could change per theme. I'm pretty sure Ozo knows ,within reason, what the bare min. per each theme would need to be.

When I was running this, I constantly struggled with the decision of whether or not to force a minimum number of IPs. I ultimately decided to use strong wording in the theme rules along the lines of "better draft enough innings to avoid the fatigue death spiral". Even with that, there are always 1 or 2 teams that ignore it.
