ODL commentary Topic

The ODL is such a great and fun challenge. The decisions during the drafting process of penciling players in for future picks that you think will be available and weighing that against players who fall way past their recent ADP is so much fun.
Now as we finalize our rosters, do you try to balance out the level of talent across 19,300 minutes or do you try to have the strongest 18,000 or 17,000 or 16,000 or 15,000 minutes? Whatever your threshold or target is, it is always a balancing act of trying to hit certain statistical benchmarks.
Where do you sacrifice one category to be strong in another category where you think it matters most. For me, bringing all the top users such as yourselves together to compete in this game is the most fun I’ve had in years. This beats playing typical fantasy sports. Thank you to all of you for continually raising the bar and challenging others to think creatively to assemble sim league greatness.

I am sure I am in the minority, but I’ve never actually played in an open league before. Strictly ODL and 52Mil. Couldn’t agree more. The competition is everything.

I've barely played many open leagues. Did a lot of progs for several years. Have almost exclusively done competitive leagues for a while now. They are the only trophies worth their full weight imo.

Same. I’ve never played an open league. In fact i don’t think I’ve ever played an open theme league either. Just a really old regressive league, the ppl, the ODL/52mil and I think I played in the ddl the first couple seasons of it’s existence.

I know I played in a lot of the early ODL and 52 Mil seasons. They have always been my favorites along with the old Gym Rat league and the College+ league that was run a while ago.

Is anyone familiar (Guillermo) with a league where players were freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors and after their senior season you lost them and had to draft more players? I don’t know if that is even right, but I ran across it once and I don’t remember any details.
