For those unfamiliar, a chain is simple. Start with any player in the sim, I'll use '76 Reggie Jackson as an example. In 1977 Reggie was a Yankee, so your next player would be a '77 Yankee, and your next player would have been that player's teammate in '78 and so on until you have filled out your 25 man roster. You may also run your chain in reverse, example start your team with 2009 Matt Holliday. Your next player would be from the 2008 Rockies and your next player would have been that player's teammate in 2007 and so on.
Baseball Reference will be the official reference for a player's major league eligibility from one season to the next.
- 1920 - present players only
- 24 Team League
- $110m cap
- YES to DH. No to Injuries, WW, Trades, AAA and clones
- Chain can only go in one direction, Forward or back (i.e. If your forward chain starts with a 1991 player, your last player would be from 2015, A backward chain starting with 1991 would have a last player from 1967)
- Choose an Anchor player to start your chain, that player season will be exclusive as an anchor, no one else can start anchor their chain with that player. Can still appear mid-chain on other rosters.
- Stadium must be one that one of your players at the 2 ends of your chain called home in the year you selected them.
- Alignment will be chronological based on the time period of your chain.
- Partial and Full seasons OK as long as it fits the theme. (IE - If you are chaining from 08' Albert Pujols to 09' Matt Holliday, you can use Holliday's Cards stats or full season stats but not solely his A's stats.)
