Rankings, including last season's rank:

4. 1. Texas A & M, Commerce
1. 2. Augustana (SD)
9. 3. Ohio Valley
15. 4. So. Connecticut
12. 5. St. Augustine's
6. 6. New York Tech
13. 7. Missouri Western
10. 8. So. Illinois-Edwardsville
8. 9. No. Carolina Central
3. 10. Bemidji State
Not sure how these are figured, but I'm gonna push to get Augustana back on top (winningest DII program in Rupp and it isn't even close, but need a title). For the upcoming season, I'd love to set up games with some of the other 9 teams in the top-10...could help all of us in RPI/SOS, and would be fun. Anyone else interested?

It's based on tournament success in the previous 5 seasons. Winning % is not considered at all. Texas A & M Commerce has advanced further than Augustana in 3 of the 5 seasons, including a Championship and a Final Four. They are every so slightly ahead.

Wasn't refuting that TA&M Commerce shouldn't be on top...I think I've gotten a bit complacent at Augustana and--while still strong--I've moved away from some important fundamentals. Plan to move back to basics this recruiting cycle and my goal is to retake the top spot. But I agree, based on recent success (championship stands out) A&M Commerce is certainly a legitimate top-ranked team.

Colorado St-Pueblo BABY! I was going to move up to D1, but I am sticking around for longer just for this ranking system (we have goals).

Greatest thread ever!

This is the problem with rankings with such strict entry criteria and no room for flexibility.

You are the victim of a flawed system.

(That is what you wanted to hear, right?)

LOL. I grant that my criteria are strict and inflexible. But that's how I chose to do it. I value tournament consistency over recent success. While New Haven has been terrific the past two seasons, they missed the tournament (once with a losing record) the prior two seasons.

I'd welcome another coach's rankings, using a different system. It'd be fun to compare them!
