THE (INDIVIDUAL) SALARY CAP WILL REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR SEASON 3 AND BEYOND, BUT THE HARD $ FIGURE IS UP FOR REVIEW/DISCUSSION FOLLOWING SEASON 2 (AFTER SEEING FREE AGENT DEMANDS).
THE CAP FOR SEASON 3 & 4 WILL BE $13.5M PER SEASON (NOT AN AVERAGE, THIS IS A HARD CAP), AND FOR SEASON 5 IT WILL RAISE TO $15.0M. FOLLOWING SEASON 5, THE CAP WILL BE ABOLISHED AND OWNERS WILL BE COUNTED ON TO MAKE WISE DECISIONS ON THEIR OWN WHICH CONTINUE TO PROMOTE LEAGUE PARITY AND REFRAIN FROM HANDICAPPING ANY FRANCHISE FROM CERTAIN FUTURE DOOM!!!

RULE 2.01

NEW MINOR LEAGUE ROSTER RULE/GUIDELINE, EFFECTIVE STARTING IN SEASON 13:

Starting when we roll to Season 13, a minor league roster rule/guideline will be in place. This rule/guideline is designed to assure that we see less 28-24 games, less LF playing C, less pitchers playing the OF and less OF pitching, etc. It is also designed to protect owners that historically do maintain their minor leagues, because the result of the aforementioned oversights is more exposure to the possibility for fatigue and/or injury, for all players involved in a game.
The rule/guideline will be as follows:

• At the beginning of the minor league regular season, each level (Low A, High A, AA, AAA) is to have no fewer than 23 players on the roster.
• Of those 23, at least TWELVE must be pitchers.
• Of the 11 position players, their must be AT LEAST ONE of each at: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF and RF.
• At the conclusion of the draft (i.e., before the games start), the Rookie League team must have no fewer than 25 players on the roster.
• Of those 25, at least FOURTEEN must be pitchers.
• Of the 11 position players, their must be AT LEAST ONE of each at: C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, LF, CF and RF.

Queens, New York
6/2/2006 8:25 PM
I'll take Philly.

Hey, Rick, my ownership group has decided there is too much history to compete with in Oakland, what with the greatest franchise of all times already located there.... we'd like to announce that we have moved the pending NABCL club to Portland, Oregon, if no one objects! (Of course, maybe I shouldn't do that if there as many draftable baseball prospects in Oregon as there were college football prospects in GD )
6/2/2006 8:46 PM
I'm going to go with Washington DC, and I don't have a preference league-wise.
6/2/2006 8:49 PM
Rick, I'd like to have the Las Vegas franchise in this world, if I could. What's their ballpark name?
6/2/2006 8:56 PM
Put me in Charlotte at the Castle. Would perfer NL.
6/2/2006 9:09 PM
I'll take Jacksonville - no preference as to league.
6/2/2006 9:11 PM
Looking at Vancouver, preferably NL, but I hold the right to change my mind multiple times if necessary.
6/2/2006 9:21 PM
From what I've seen it looks like ALOT of work. Everyone bring your committment hat.

By the way, we originally had 36 owners, but a few have dropped out and we have 2 open spots. If you have someone you'd like to recommend, please do so and have them contact me.

I'm not in a world yet, and I feel like my time on this site has at least tripled, reading the forums, checking box scores, reading the world chat, etc. And I think it's only going to get worse.
