Are those names anywhere in real minor league baseball?
I think every first name and last name of every real-life MLer ever is fair game.

I wonder if they'll update the name database yearly so that we'll start seeing Prince, Boof, Yovani, etc.

In all seriousness though, they should get rid of all of the names like Stuffy, Hulk, Bum and other rediculous things like that.

According to thebaseballcube.com, there has never been a major or minor leaguer in the history of baseball with the first name of Iago or Delanor.

I have a feeling the programmers added some of their personal preferences to augment to the list--anyone have a Zentmeyer on any of their teams?

Not to mention the international I recently signed from Japan named Nigel Yamada. I don't remember meeting any Japanese guys named Nigel (although I have met a Chinese man named Friedman, so who knows?...)

This season I drafted a shortstop named Socks Fox.

For the sake of argument, there has never been a major or minor leaguer in the history of baseball named Hades or Zoltan.

I don't mind the crazy names myself - let's face it, it's a game of lists. Might as well make a few interesting.

In Griffey, we've got a Hulk Priest, but the best in my opinion is Jumbo Colon.

I have Sticky Black in one of my leagues...sounds like some really good reefer. I am all for the crazy names two of my favorite are Stump and Hoss. I also like the occasional real life names...I have a stud pitching prospect named Phillip Rivers.
