Thank you. Notice I went for the end of season nose dive to try to increase my odds. I figured If I lost 5 of my last 10 kevb would have a better chance of CCOY. Sometimes you have to really work hard if you want to be a winner.

taz is looking good here. amps got a shot if domenico (go NYU!) wins player of the year. jared needs a CT win from Brandeis. cj needs a win from RP. kev needs a win from Washington. bnys needs a win by NYU. and i need a win from Ham, Skid, Clark, Chi, Roch, or Case.
this is kinda like being a wildcard team going into the last week of the NFL.

1st one is down to kev (who needs a Washington win) and taz (who needs a St Lawrence win)

congrats again to crisp who was damn near perfect in the 2nd pickem. Even if he did have to throw 3 or 4 games there to ensure kev getting CCOY.

With the way the season ended, at least I won something.

So should I throw tonights game? Guess it's sorta a win-win situation.

possibly ORV - Brandeis, NYU
my predictions for preseason rankings. yea a little optimistic, but whatever...

#14? The team skill rating might agree w/ that, but I've been struggling w/ both of my D3 squads the last couple of seasons, so that is probably a bit high.
Question for the masses. As I discussed was planning to make the switch to man2man due to my fustrations w/ the 2-3. However as I started to run more 3-2, that has seemed to cover up the deficiencies in stopping the 3 ball that have cropped up running the 2-3. Would I be wise to just stick w/ the 3-2 next year (as my team was recruited to play zone, ie several low DE rated players) or should I just stick it out and run man?
1/3/2007 9:34 AM
i noticed a slight improvement playing the 3-2 as well taz. but it is still very inconsistant. you'll play two games and then the third will be like you're reading a completely different boxscore. that was at the DI level though.

I will be joining when coaching jobs open on 1/8.

Polo, I've found the 3-2 w/ a + defense has been fairly consistant for me (as long as I have a speed advantage, which I try to build around)
I used to make it a habit of keeping the adjust at halftime bar to "always". At chicago, I found my biggest problems came when I went from a +2,+1, or 0 down to a 0, -1, or -2 defense. that is when I tended to get torched from the perimeter (which perhaps makes sense, but was certainly not the norm in past seasons) The thing that has made me learly about switching to man2man next year, besides my roster makeup is that I found if I went +1 in the 3-2 and wasn't severly outmanned from a speed perspective, that defense was pretty consistant in the 2nd half of wooden this year. I'm starting to do the same in Crum w/ my 2 zone squads. I'll still mixed in the 2-3 or a 3-2 w/ a - tilt if the opposing offense called for it, but my defense definently became more consistant as the season went along despite not practicing any time at zone.
Does that experience jive with you or anyone else?
Also, anyone have opinions on the doubling aspect after the recent changes? I've found myself doubling much less often.
