Heartland finished a very close 2nd to the Pennsylvania A.C. It was nip and tuck all season but the Pennsylvanians had a better NT to secure the top spot.

* The conference is tied for the #1 spot with the Pennsylvania A.C.

*Bluffton's coach aporter, returning to the school after a 7-year absence, has the Beavers back on top.

*Surprising Anderson is right behind Bluffton. They haven't had a winning season in 18 years and have missed the post-season for the last 14.

*Overacheiving Transylvania, picked 4th in the South, has a 3-game lead and a sweep of traditional power Westminster. Transylvania, who has made post-season in every Iba season, hasn't won the South in 14 years.

At the end of non-conference play, the Heartland is #2,just behind the Pennsylvanians. Three days ago,we were #5 but finished strong.

A lot of lower RPIs so far this season but there are many teams that played tough non-con schedules against teams that will see a sharp improvement in their RPIs during the rest of the season. I think we have 8 teams who legitimately could make a run at a NT bid.

Final standings:

We're in good shape for 3 in the NT and, possibly, 4 in the PIT.

Conference is #2 behind the PAC but their lead is sizeable. They should maintain the #1 spot.

Defiance wins the North for the first time in 4 years. Transy wins back-to-back South titles for the first time in 17.
