Neville Hewitt: Heading to New York
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Hewitt signed a one-year deal with the Jets on Wednesday, Ian Rapoport of NFLNetwork reports.

Hewitt has spent the past three seasons with the AFC East-rival Dolphins, with his best season coming in 2016 when he recorded 64 tackles, one sack and a pass defensed. Hewitt could compete with Avery Williamson for the starting middle linebacker role after Demario Davis left for New Orleans in free agency.

Thomas Rawls: Signs with Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Rawls signed with the Jets on Friday.

Rawls burst onto the scene as an undrafted rookie in 2015, taking 147 carries for 830 yards (5.6 average) and four touchdowns in 13 games for the Seahawks. He suffered a major ankle injury late in the year and hasn't looked the same ever since, managing just 506 yards and three scores on 167 carries (3.0 YPC) the past two seasons. Rawls likely will need to compete for a roster spot behind Isaiah Crowell and BIlal Powell in New York.

Jets' Clive Walford: Finds home in New York
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

The Jets claimed Walford off waivers Monday, Field Yates of ESPN reports.

Taking advantage of a modest role in the Raiders offense, the 2015 third-round selection accounted for 61 catches (on 102 targets) for 688 yards and six touchdowns in his first two pro seasons. Upon the arrival of Jared Cook last year, though, Walford's usage dwindled to 12.8 percent of the offensive snaps, which translated to just nine receptions for 80 yards and no TDs in 2017. Walford's new reality could result in a rebound due to the dearth of talent at TE with the Jets. With Austin Seferian-Jenkins out of the picture, Walford will only have to compete with Eric Tomlinson, Jordan Leggett and Neal Sterling for reps, as the roster is currently constructed.

Jets' Travis Swanson: Inks deal with Jets
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

C-Swanson signed a contract with the Jets on Tuesday, Paul Schwartz of the New York Post reports.

Swanson, a former third-round selection of the Lions, spent his first four seasons in Detroit, starting 42 of 53 games during the stint. However, he missed the final six games of last season due to a concussion -- an injury the center now disputes, claiming he instead had a bad reaction to the medicine he received for the injury. The Jets also brought in former Redskins center Spencer Long (quadriceps), who figures to start the season atop the depth chart. However, Long is returning from a torn quadriceps injury last season, which could give Swanson an opportunity to take over starting duties should Long be sidelined heading into training camp

Jets also signed TE- Bucky Hodges

Charles Johnson: Signs with Gang Green
by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire

Johnson (knee) signed with the Jets on Monday, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports.

A 2013 seventh-round pick, Johnson made a bit of a splash while playing with Teddy Bridgewater for the 2014 Vikings, averaging 71 receiving yards over a five-week stretch late in the season. He's managed only 479 yards in his other 34 career games, most recently spending 2017 on injured reserve with the Panthers while recovering from a knee injury. Despite reuniting with his former quarterback, Johnson will be a long shot to make the final roster on a Jets team with ample competition at wide receiver.

Also sign LB- Kevin Minter

Nathan Shepherd DT, FTHST

This might be low for this power player. The Jets need to get stronger up front, so it works.

4th rd
Christopher Herndon IV TE, Miami (Fla.)
Height: 6-4 Weight: 245

Lengthy, seam-stretcher for Sam Darnold. Not twitchy, but long strides make him deceptively good after the catch.

Parry Nickerson CB, Tulane

Ball-skill specialist. Plus awareness. Very aggressive knocking down passes. Elite long speed. Lack of size is probably the reason he fell this far.
