ake a look at the latest moves and signings by the New York Jets in this 2019 NFL Free Agency tracker with instant analysis and twitter reactions.

After months of waiting, the 2019 free agency period is finally here! The New York Jets have long been expected to be one of the most active participants in this year’s free agent signing period making fans even more eager for the start of the first major event of the offseason.

Essentially, this is the Jets version of the Super Bowl.

The first day of the legal tampering period gave Jets fans some hope for an exciting free agency interval. The Jets reportedly agreed to deals with three free agents: wide receiver Jamison Crowder, wide receiver/special teamer Josh Bellamy, and linebacker/edge rusher Anthony Barr.

The Jets followed that up with the reported signing of linebacker C.J. Mosley to a massive contract continuing the team’s offseason shopping spree. But what’s a free agent period without curve balls? After originally reports indicated that he had signed with the Jets, reports now state that he has agreed to return to the Minnesota Vikings.

And the Jets disastrous second day continued as it was later reported that top center target Matt Paradis had signed on with the Carolina Panthers. However, all was forgiven as shortly after midnight the Jets reportedly reached a deal with star running back Le’Veon Bell.

Apart from early free agent signings, the Jets made multiple other moves retaining in-house free agents Darryl Roberts and Jonotthan Harrison as well as acquiring Oakland Raiders offensive guard Kelechi Osemele in a trade. The trade and free agent signings will officially go through at the start of the new league year at 4 p.m ET but for now, they are as close to official as can be.

This tracker will be designed to provide up-to-the-minute rumors and announcements regarding any Jets free agency moves. It will also be your source for any and all instant analysis pieces done on the Jets newest signees.

As the week goes on, more deals will likely be announced so make sure you stay up-to-date and check back with this tracker every so often so that you don’t miss any Jets free agency news. With that, let’s take a look at the reported signings so far with their instant grades and analyses.

I guess it makes sense that Bell, who is trying to limit his "usage", would sign with a team where he would be resting in January.

Jets sign Trevor Siemian to back up Sam Darnold, replacing 39-year-old Josh McCown

New York has a new No. 2, and he's more than a decade younger than McCown

It's not easy to add depth at three different positions with just one signing, but that's exactly what the New York Jets did on Thursday when they picked up free agent Ty Montgomery.

According to ESPN.com, the Jets signed Montgomery to a one-year deal. The move might not be a flashy one, but it will give some the Jets some much-needed help at several different positions.

For one, Montgomery will likely serve as a backup to Le'Veon Bell. The 26-year-old also has some experience playing wide receiver in the NFL, which means he could help out the Jets at that position if the team needs it. Montgomery can also return kickoffs, which might be the most important talent that he's bringing to New York.

Although the Jets finished the 2018 season with NFL's third-best return game, their leading kick returner (Andre Roberts) departed in free agency and signed with the Bills, which left New York with a gaping hole at the position. Last season, Roberts was voted to the Pro Bowl as a special teams player after averaging 29.4 yards per return, which ranked second in the NFL.

As for Montgomery, he average 21 yards per return in 2018 while playing with the Packers for their first seven games.

Quinnen Williams DL, BAMA

Height: 6-3, Weight: 303

I love this pick. I could make a case for Josh Allen as the Jets needed more of a pure pass rusher, but this kid will be dominant. People in the league have compared him to Reggie White, let's slow down a bit on that, but this kid is a dominating player.

Jachai Polite EDGE, FLA

Height: 6-3, Weight: 258

When you watch the tape, the kid plays hard all the time and he can rush the passer. It's more than just the bad combine that caused his fall, he didn't get a good recommendation from the staff in Florida. He also, after the combine, went to his pro day and gained weight. There's a bad track record of pass rushers from Florida.

Chuma Edoga OL, USC

Height: 6-3, Weight: 308

He is an athletic tackle who needs to get bigger and tougher. He is good in pass protection but he isn't great in the run game.

Draft Prospect Outlook

Draft Scouting Report:

Edoga is a unique prospect at under 6-4 but with arms nearly 35-inches long. He needs to get stronger and add weight. No question about that. His supreme physical gifts could get him onto the field early in his career. Edoga glides in pass protection, and uses his length to his advantage often. He's a smooth mover when getting to the second level as a run blocker too. -- CT
