The Packers have apparently reached an agreement with Cleveland to trade franchise tag DT Corey Williams for a second round draft choice in this year's draft. It will be the 56th overall pick, giving the Packers three choices in the top 60 and possibly providing the Packers with some ammunition to move up in the first round (though GM Ted Thompson has never once in his NFL career traded up in the first).

The Packers released WR/emergency QB Carlyle Holiday today. After catching nine passes in 2006, he missed nearly the entire 2007 season with a knee problem.

The Packers are expected to have Lions DE Corey Smith and Rams LB Brandon Chillar in for visits this week. Smith was in Frisco during McCarthy's tenure there.

ESPN's Chris Mortenson is reporting that Brett Favre's man-crush on Randy Moss continues unabated.

The Packers contacted Detroit LB Boss Bailey's agent but no visit has been scheduled.

This sucks. Packers would've won 12+ games again this year. Now they can hope Rodgers stays healthy and they can snag a playoff berth.

Nickelback at best, he didn't really play very much in Green Bay (about 12% of the snaps) so it's hard to say. He seemed to be competent when I saw him play, particularly late in the season.
