PACKERS: Datone Jones is latest DL bust drafted Topic

Packers get a late Christmas gift when Christian Ponder is unable to play for Minnesota in the opening round of the playoffs. The Vikes start Joe Webb instead, and things do not go well for him. Packers take an unimpressive 24-10 victory to advance to the second round, where they will travel to San Francisco, a team that demolished the Pack in the season opener.

In case you haven't been paying attention, I'm also the token 49ers fan, Giants fan, and Sharks fan around these boards.

Oh, and the Military Bowl Champion San Jose State Spartans fan too.

It's draft weekend!

Packers start theirs out with UCLC DL Datone Jones, who will no doubt join Jamal Reynolds and Justin Harrell as notable first round busts.

EDDIE LACY-- STEAL O THE DRAFT. WANTED JETS TO GET HIM. DIVISIONAL FOES ALL COULDA HAD HIM

Packers seemed almost reluctant to do it, even trading down from 55 to 61 (picking up a sixth round choice) when Lacy and Montee Ball were both on the board. When Lacy was still there at 61, he became a Packer.

Not quite in keeping with the organizational imperative to avoid injuries.
