I actually saw a y 2B turn a DP during softball this spring. It was awkward as all hell, but it worked.

nope. just my word for it. I got stuck playing 1st that game, so I had a nice view of it.

I can't imagine the logistics of how a y 2B would work, he'd have to like, flip the ball rather then throw it to 1st base.

Whoever said that it's an advantage to be y at 2B is a dumbass.

tacos, the complete "explanation" of how this works is in this thread. If you find it, you'll enjoy the hours of laughter.

In the case I witnessed, the y 2B ran to the bag took the throw for out 1, then had to turn 270 degrees to his right, set himself, and throw to first to get the slow running batter. Awkward, but impressive.

No idea why our brilliant coach didn't move me to second and put the y at first. I normally played 3B or SS all year, while the y 2B was normally a pitcher or 1B.

But dumb moves like that were part of the reason I didn't stay with the team.

See Simleague Forum, his "OOP help" thread.

I just want to point out the unfortunate tale of Richie Bonilla, who due to managerial inattention, played 3B for 60+ games.

He is 2nd among 3B for BA and OBP, batting leadoff for a playoff contender.

He is also -handed and has committed an eye-popping 12(-) plays, roughly 6x the rate for an equally rated right-handed 3B.

Apparently, HBD feels that LH3B (a new thread?) are not very good.

uncleal is keeping a very low profile in Juice's latest tournament. As usual, he cowarded out of an opportunity to provide a status report when asked for one in the league forum.

of course.

no surprise there.
