Plus if we were truly a more Christian Valued and Republican nation than why;

Is abortion pretty much unchallenged?
Gay marriage still an issue?
Cloning even considered?
Hate laws even enacted?
CNN 100 times bigger than CBN?
Welfare such a huge issue?
Parental authority constantly undermined?

Are you implying that if America WAS a more "Christian Value and Republican" nation, that:

Gay Marriage wouldn't be an issue?
Hate laws would be non-existent?
Welfare wouldn't be a huge issue?
Parental authority wouldn't be undermined?????

Jesus H. Christ on a popsicle stick, are you naive and/or stupid.

Question please - Isn't this thread, itself, whining about other whiners and boasters? So, is the author of this thread biased against whiners, or is he in fact a supporter of whiners, since he is actually whining while under the guise of being fair and balanced to boasters and whiners?
It must be that corporate beaurocracy casting its evil global warming haze over this thread that prevents the truth from seeing the light of day.
Whiners or Boasters, what we need is one of those caucus things to decide. Those are democratic, right?

Tolerance is great why don't we allow polygamy
too?
Hate laws legislation came about during Clinton's reign.
Welfare exists whether we have republicans or not but the Dem's sure love the poor voting for em waiting for that carrot.
In Massachusetts a Democratic rep from Lexington introduced a bill that would outlaw parents spanking a child.

I don't know what Jesus on Popsicle sticks means but you probably have some issues you need to work on.

So again, you're advocating that there be no hate laws in existence? Therefore, you advocate hate crimes?

You admit welfare will exist regardless of which party hold presidential office, yet it's the Democrats' fault that it exists?

This sole Democratic rep from Massachusetts, by introducing a bill outlawing parents' spanking of their children, this is the first sign of parental authority every being undermined? And if Republicans remain in office, parental authority will never be undermined?

Wow. Scary.

f*ck it, sorry for hijacking your thread, DT.

This all started with a slam on Obama. I don't advocate hate crimes. But it's needless legislation. It's feel good legislation for headlines. If someone attacks another it should be based on the fact the act is illegal. Who cares if one guy hated another after the fact. A crime was committed. What if someday preaching the Bible is considered Hate speech because gays, liberal kooks find it offensive and swindle some laws into effect? Welfare is a fault on both sides. But the Dem's look to the black minority vote like it's enitiled for them and what are they doing to help the black man out. Nothing! Lip service.

Parental authority is undermined by the mindset that parents can't take care of their own children. Research who has introduced the laws and draw your own conclusion. Now we return to our previously running thread.

Obama ain't a true Irishman, I guarantee. Why the hell are the Marines hunting Al Qaline, anyway? Republicans, Democrats, etc., etc....what the hell is the difference these days? The American News Media, not too much of a walk over to American Marketing.

Half the country is whining about the state of affairs, the other half is boasting about the state of affairs. The whiners think the boasters are 'tards, the boasters think the whiners are...'tards.

Keep yer ding-dang head down, say your prayers, and know someone/something else owns your *** (and you'll probably owe more soon). Other than that, happiness is still possible. And this site is one of the things/people I include in the Happy Column.

Hey, I highjacked the thread myself, so let it go wherever posters want to take it.

The United States in the past eight years has come the closest to being an outright example of corporate fascism that it has ever been.

This is on top of years of righteous economic exploitation of other countries. (Why do they hate us? They understand this exploitation more than most of us are willing to consider.)

The corporate moguls do control their media, whether you believe it or not. For just a few examples, find the documentary, "Fear and Favor in the Newsroom." You might also read: "Breaking the News" by James Fallows; "On Bended Knee" by Mark Hertsgaard; "The Secret History of the American Empire" by John Perkins; or, for a broad historical view, "The Image" by Daniel J. Boorstin. (I could provide a much longer reading list.)

The corporate elites are happy to have the populace distracted by Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, by arguments over gay rights, by the continuing debate over abortion, and by the obsession on TV news with anything violent or melodramatic -- because it keeps people from paying attention to the kinds of things written about in those books and documentaries.

I won't go on because I lack faith that the readers of this thread who are not already wise to reality will pay attention anyway.

If you want your politicians to be able to continue to claim that this is the greatest country on earth, you better send some of the corporate cronies (Republicans and Democrats) in the Congress and the White House packing while there is still something to boast about.

Al Qaline corked his bats and should therefore be brought before Congress to face the consequences.
