Are you guys saying we're an exception? :)

Don't worry, I know Calvin is in rareified air at this point.

No way!  Norm is obviously the exception.

Obviously the exception is Beloit not making the Sweet 16 for the first time since 1942.

Rub it in, rub it in.  We'll be back with a vengeance!

A few shockers in the Elite eight, but the Big Two still remain. Though did I see that Joshua White got injured in the last game for RPI? That could present an interesting twist to the NT drama...

You guys should know by now that Josh White is indestructible.  He's at 100% for the Final 4.

Indestructible physically, maybe.  Mentally, my guys are all up in his head :)

Of course, with all the media taunting and tweeting my guys have been doing, they will probably get blown out by Oberlin tonight.

He seemed ok holding Lyles to 7/23 from the floor in the first game :)

I was doing a little analysis of the FF and noticed something strange.  Below are the season totals for points scored and allowed.  Scary how similar they look.

Ren Poly:  2560 scored, 1957 against
Hamline:   2560 scored, 1939 against

Here is the Off/Def Efficiency of the 4 FF teams.

  possessions OR DR
RPI 2073 123.5 94.4
Dickinson 2499 102.8 96.5

Hamline 2149 119.1 90.2
Oberlin 2281 122.1 97.4

and so we get the rematch the world wanted...

I'm going to have to hope this emulates the UNC-Michigan series from 1993, where the Heels lost a close one in the early season but got their revenge in the title game. For Ike's sake I hope there's not technical foul/TO moment.

Go Upstate!

What a great matchup!

Just as predicted. I've never been so excited for a game that I'm not involved in. Go Minnesota!

I have to admit I'm pretty happy this game falls on a Friday so I can watch it late tonight instead of the next morning at work.  Big games like this I enjoy having both team rosters loaded up while I watch the pbp.  Then I can shake my fist when a 50 Per hits a 3 on me or a D+ foul shooter makes both in a 1-and-1, etc.
2/3/2012 2:34 PM
I like this way of watching the game. But, wouldn't having both rosters open give away who won the game since the W-L records of both teams are visible?
2/3/2012 6:19 PM
If you open the team windows before the game sims and just minimize them, then the old records will still be showing when you're ready to watch.  But you can't open any player cards, look at stats, etc during the game or you'd ruin it like you said.  I like being able to see my opponents' ratings during the game though.

And for a title game I'll probably watch it real slow and keep track in my head of who's on the floor at all times..maybe call for a specific player to shoot on a given possession like I'm actually coaching.  I find little stuff like that really helps me enjoy the game more.
2/3/2012 6:37 PM
Ah I see. That's a really good idea. Might have to try it myself...and hopefully in an NT championship game someday!
