I treat ath to be equal to speed, so my formulas weigh them the same, which is why I said ath/spd advantage.

One more to the list. This is the 6th seed I'm facing in Tark D3, with ath/speed both higher than Hamline, Def = Hamline. Top D3 teams are as good as the top D2 teams.

I wish we could've seen a Hamline/RP final last season.  Based on how the game went a few nights back, I think it would've at least been a competitive game.  RP might have even matched up a little better last season with that young frontcourt you had.

I'd take Hamline over all the teams posted fwiw..and they're all amazing.  But none of them come close to matching the insane LP/Per ratings, and the Ath/Def would keep Hamline in any game.  Only way they would lose is with a bad shooting roll of the dice on both ends.
I agree kb.  Your team scared me the most of anyone in the country.  Your guards were crazy good.

That's a SIX?  Holy crap.

1/12/2012 2:08 PM
D3 Tark is extremely stacked, with 5 teams rated over 600, and another team at 599. 7 teams with combined ath speed over 110.
1/12/2012 2:28 PM
ok now those last 2 would definitely make me reconsider a little bit, Tark must be a brutal place to play.

fwiw I value Ath slightly more than Spd in general, but I think that's debatable.  I guess I think Ath has a bigger impact on more things than Spd does.  But I agree with what ike said, with teams so good it really depends a lot on individual matchups..and I'm too lazy to look that closely at it.

Hamline to repeat
1/29/2012 7:51 PM
RPI, without question.  kb has that team ready to win.
1/29/2012 8:43 PM
My money is on Hamline as well. Go MIAC! Though I do believe RPI and Hamline are destined to face each other in the Championship game.
1/29/2012 10:59 PM
Agree there's a pretty good chance we see a Hamline/RPI final.  Obviously anything can happen in the NT, but those have looked like the 2 best teams all season long.  Almost feels like the Bama/LSU rematch situation.  Hopefully it turns out the same way :)

Don't count out St. Norbert or Trinity.
1/30/2012 12:40 PM
No, crazily enough, I played RPI, Norbs, and Trinity in non-con.

I'd be shocked if I could get past any of them again.

And no way, kb, my first win over you was a fluke.  If there was a way to bet real money on HD, I'd put a significant amount on you to win.  What you did in the Upstate this year was incredible.
1/31/2012 12:00 PM
Nothing flukey about 60+ team Ath and Def and several ~90 defenders making my guys shoot 38% from the floor.
1/31/2012 4:11 PM
Well, with a couple of exceptions, this is what everyone expected, right?
2/1/2012 9:57 AM
Yep. Things are still going as predicted...and the RPI/Hamline final is fast approaching.
2/1/2012 2:10 PM
Ha, right.  First I have to go through one of the greatest coaches in the modern history of HD.  Let's just say I'm skeptical.
