We had a better than expected season with an abrupt end, sweeping conference and CT play to go 27-2 before losing a double-OT thriller to Marian and keosawa in the second round of the NT. Their tough man-to-man really took us out of our game.

Since I had looked at this as a rebuilding season, I can't be too disappointed. But of course the truth is that when you get to the NT with a top seed, your expectations are pretty high.

Looking at those stats, what stands out to me is that Richardson was massively disappointing this year. Shooting all those threes is much less effective if your opponent doesn't have to worry about a post player. I thought Richardson would be that guy after a solid sophomore season (and a pre-season All-America nod), but his play was desultory, especially against human coaches. Harvey and/or Howard may get/split that role next season, w/ Richardson at least still being able to pull rebounds.

I spent a lot of time trying to figure out which guard to make into a scoring complement to Smith, with the result that Mitchem, Allen, and Shields all filled or shared the role at different times. Although it bothered me not having that settled, splitting the load also makes it harder for the opposition to predict. I'm not sure what I'll do next season.
