Shocking news: Brad Nelson signs with Seattle.
5/19/2009 11:23 AM
Brewers expected to call up Hernan "The Hurricane" Iribarren from Nashville to take Weeks' spot on the roster, but Craig Counsell and Casey McGehee will likely be in a semi-platoon at 2B for the near future.

Is this going to be like the post Holmgren era..... everytime a player is cut they end up in Seattle?

Jason Kendall got his 2000th hit last night, one of only eight players in history to get that many hits "primarily" as a catcher (defined as having played 1000 games at C)

I think its safe to say that Kendall won't sniff 3,000 hits.

It seems like it's Seattle if they're a position player (because of Zduriencik) and Texas if they're a pitcher (because of Mike Maddux).

It will be interesting to see how long Gamel stays up. I like how he took the walk after hitting the HR. Figured he would be all jacked-up to hit another and swing at the pitches in the dirt but he took them. Bill Hall of course, 3 pitches in the dirt and 3 awful swings.

Gamel, Braun and Fielder high fiving at home has a nice look to it, at least for 1 more year.

Rickie Weaks gets hurt before his "hot" start peters out into a typical Rickie Weaks season.

The way I see it, Weaks saved Brewer fans a summer of anguishing over why he sucks again.

That could be very true.
