I'll be there tonight. I'm not looking forward to it.

3-4 on the year now. Good shot at a series win with Gallardo on the mound tomorrow.

Me = 4-2

Both losses came when one of my coworkers was there also. I blame him.

Burns was really chaning speeds effectively tonight.. Dodgers did not know what to do with that slow curve he was throwing. For the first four innings, anyway. The strike zone seemed to be a little generous as well.

Yovani not very effective today, nor the offense.

The post-Break schedule seems like it should be easier.

In the words of Steve the Homer True, I'm "cautiously optimistic" about the Crew for the 2nd half of the season. Obviously, they're playing poor ball right now. But, they're only 2 1/2 out and they've weathered the toughest stretch of their schedule with McClung and Mike Effing Burns in the rotation (by "weathered" I mean "did not get mathematically eliminated from the playoff race".

If Parra can be anything like he was in his return, and Bush can be himself pre-line drive (and Gallardo goes back to how he was before these last 2 starts), I think the rotation will be greatly solidified. You can do worse than Soup/Loop as 4-5...but when they're 2-3, as has been the case the last couple weeks, you're going to struggle big time.

The offense will be inconsistent, as always...if the starting pitching can at least keep them in the game most nights they could win a decent chunk of games the 2nd half of the season.

whenever I see Corey Hart at the plate, it always has the feel of watching a pitcher bat.....something about his stance or his ill-fitting helmet, I'm not quite sure what it is, but the feeling is there....

I think it's the long, looping swing that is apparently allergic to contact with horsehide.

After complaining of arm fatigue in last night's rehab start at AA Huntsville, Dave Bush will see a doctor.

Seems bad.

Brewers find their bats in Cincinnati, beat Reds to start the second half 9-6.

Mike Burns will start Monday as Bush apparently is not healthy.

I predict a "Why score when you can suck?"
7/17/2009 10:15 PM
Darn right, dude.

The Brewers have talked to Toronto about Halladay, few details known, though Melvin appears to have backed off somewhat from his earlier statements that Alcides Escobar and Mat Gamel are untouchable.

Headline sounds like a bad porn movie title.

I'm tempted to say, "the Parra we know and love is back," but he was never really good enough to be loved.
