one thing seble says is AAA is based on the real named guys but they do a little something to make them not identical

so i'm not sure they would want to name them the same

much like jesus though i be
The normalization is the changed factor. The AAA player no longer normalizes against their original season/league, but against the most recent season. So guys from 1894/1930 are great because they normalize against 2019 instead of their original year.

If you use real names in a theme league or draft your own, they normalize against their original year. They only normalize against current year when they are system generated/fictitious named AAA players.
damn, really?

ok, I'm going with real names going forward in any league where I'm commissioner

This should be pinned. I still run to it for every new OL, but to scroll down or Pg2 should not be a necessary. It's popular enough that it's frequently bumped; why not just make it automatic ?

It's linked in one of the top posts in the pinned FAQ. That's usually how I navigate here when I need to.

Still having issues trying to figure out my AAA Pitchers.

Control, Velocity, Effectiveness all = 10, Stamina = F. Relief Pitcher. Throws Right Handed. Fielding = A+/D-

I have 13 pitchers that come up using a salary range of 500,000 - 1,500,000 (open league).

What am I missing in my lookup?
11/18/2020 6:46 AM
Nothing. There are many pitchers who fit those characteristics
11/18/2020 7:26 AM
Look at his salary history. It's EZ to figure who they are that way.
11/18/2020 7:34 AM
There is no salary history for him.

Then he's a newer pitcher: 2017-20.

It may not be possible to determine every AAA player with exact certainty from the search engine. There are other things you can do (like testing recommended pitch counts and using SIM Matchup that are described elsewhere in this thread.) But bottom line is that you have a good pitcher. Does it really matter exactly who it is?

No it really doesn't; but I was just interested in finding out who it actually was. Thanks for the help.

I am in a league that is ready to start it’s schedule...We also use AAA players...I guess you can find out their real identities by bringing them up to your major league roster, play some sim Matchup games and his true identity will be revealed...My question is this...since the season hasn’t started yet, can I freely move players between AAA and the majors without having to wait the normal 3 games to re-call the demoted player...?

yes
