Also baseballs funny. If you told me the Arizona Diamondbacks would be still relevant after the Yankees weren't I probably would have slapped you.

Before the season started that is.

It's the problem with baseball.   Football is in full swing.   If your team isn't playing, there are too many other sports options.   I'll watch the games tonight.    Sat/Sun, unlikely.

When Cano's squibber spun under Benoit's glove in the bottom of the 7th to load the bases, I thought the Yankee Stadium ghosts were back.  Then A-Rod chased them away.

A-Fraud strikes again.

He is not endearing himself to the fanbase, that's for sure.

I think it's probably unfair to say he "choked" this year, because he certainly wasn't tearing it up in September.  I think it's more a slump that continued into the playoffs.

And give Detroit credit.  They pitched well.

I am sure he will feel bad next season as he is collecting his what, 25 million?

Ian Kennedy says thank you, Mr. Cashman.

I'm sure the Yankees don't regret the trade - and they shouldn't with the way Grandy performed this season - but I have to believe they'd have had a better shot with Jackson and Kennedy instead of Granderson.

31 million.

EDIT: Sorry, he made that this year.  29 million.

This is retarded.

Kennedy couldn't pitch in NY.  It happens.   Jackson isn't that good.

End of story.

Kennedy likely wouldn't have done as well in the AL East, but he would have been worlds better than the Yanks 4th and 5th starters.  And maybe even their #3.

And Jackson can cover a lot more ground in CF than Granderson.  With the Yankees lineup, they can afford to sacrifice some offense for better range (and an equal-to-better glove) in the OF.

AZ only matters beyond NY by schedule...they will be eliminated in Game 5 of the LDS, same as the Yankees

consider the Yankees and Diamondbacks equals in the world....

Yeah, the two runs the Yanks put up last night was an offensive explosion.

Kennedy stunk in NY.  Couldn't pitch there.  See:  Ed Whitson.

I don't know that 50 innings by age 23 is conclusive proof that he was never going to be able to pitch in NY, but he definitely didn't make much of an impression.
