Origins of the Bill of Rights - Leonard Levy
The Aspirin Age: 1919-1941: The essential events of American Life in the chaotic years between the two World Wars - edited by Isabel Leighton

Asprin Age is a collection of essays, by noted authors of the era, compiled in 1949 and reprinted a number of times over the years. It's a nice collection of articles written by those who witnessed or participated in the events. Origins is a heavier read, but I've had an abiding interest in the subject.

The Aspirin Age sounds like it would be a wonderful read, thank you for posting.

When I reread this (which I do frequently) I try to read it at the same time as a more "traditional" account.

I figure the truth is in the middle.

Currently, I am rereading the "Gilded Age" chapter of Zinn along with At the Gates of Armageddon by somebody Potter. I don't reccommend it. It is wicked boring.

Just started Super Freakonomics (Levitt and Dubner) Fun, although the opening chapter on prostitution was disturbing and - to my mind - offensive.

Lone Survivor is one of the best books I've read. Awesome!.

I haven't read Culture of Corruption, but I plan too. I love Michelle Malkin.

Currently reading, The Longest Day. Great book about D-Day.

I highly recommend this book. When you read it, you will appreciate (even more) what these soldiers did. We owe so much to them.

Scratch by Troon McAllister

He has written 4 novels pertaining to the game of golf. They are incredibly entertaining and very well written. If you have some time and want to completely lose yourself in a book and smile every couple of minutes, I heartily recommend any of his novels.
