About to use Silver King and Lady Baldwin combo in a league. Only have 3 relief pitchers (each have 100 IP) so while I don't think they'll need a lot of rest, I don't wanna use all 3 of my relievers in the same game. What pitch count should I use and how would I be able to avoid using all my relievers in the same game

I'm trying for the pitcher wins record (still 77) again with Silver King. Through 10 starts his record is 10-0 with a 0.82 ERA. He's got 4 shutouts, one of them starting at 75% (the only back-to-back start he's had so far). I couldn't ask for a better opening 10 games from him.

I'll post updates as the season progresses...
At the quarter pole (41 games) Silver's got a record of 19-2, which is on pace for a 75-8 record. Sounds good, but he's got to pick things up a bit to break the record of 77 wins!

How harsh is appearance fatigue? If you started the 900IP John Clarkeson in all 162 games, would he be pitching them at 50-60%, or at like, 12%?
If memory serves, it's closer to the latter

Well, it all crashed and burned. At the all-star break, Silver's 31-11 with a 2.81 ERA. On pace for 813 IP -- started a lot of games tired but somehow it's the games at 100% that he's been blowing.

I don't think that there is a way to guarantee that without putting two of them on rest each game, which is laborious, but if you are up for it, you can do that.

Otherwise, put two LH/RH specialists, or as mopup which should limit their use, but won't guarantee they won't get used. There is no zero pitch count setting. You can also uncheck the box for the other two each game that says they are available in relief, but again, if the engine thinks it needs to change pitchers, it will always pick a reliever over a starter until there is no one left,if I understand correctly.

Well, crashed and burned is an overstatement: Silver King is 36-11 with a 2.74 ERA, pretty successful experiment up to that point. The problem is your team is 41-50, meaning the rest of your staff is 5-39 ! This suggests that this could be re-run with a little more bullpen back up. But King has been amazing, But I roughly guess that he is on pace to win 61 games, not 77. My math may be off.

gees51: It's an OL. Anyway, I have a phobia about salary caps above 120M!

OleProfessor: My goal with the team was to break the pitcher wins record, so from that point it's been a bust. I drafted the worst pitchers in history to round out my staff (freeing up more money for offense), so I'm actually surprised by the handful of wins from them.

The Silver King OL team is finished. It was a flop, he didn't come close to the record for wins. He finished 57-24.

I got him to 788.2 innings, but had to start him tired in 24 of his 93 starts.

69 times he started at 100%, and was a very disappointing 47-14.

24 times he started between 64-75%, and was 10-10.

I've already started another team to make one more run with Silver at the wins record. So far he's 8-1 in 18 games, on pace for 72 wins. Already lagging behind!

You and I have very different defintions of "very disappointing".
4/11/2017 2:36 AM
Well, the goal was 78 wins, so falling short by 21 wasn't a happy conclusion.

By the way, my latest Silver King just swept a two-gamer from a team in the opposite league while starting tired. Before the series began my scouts noticed this team was suffering terribly from fatigue (they were 2-18 heading into the series with us), so I decided instead of one sure-fire win at 100% I'd go for two at 68 and 63%. Silver's now 11-1 after 22 games -- on pace for a record 81 wins!

Believe It or Don't!

Hay crazy I just in to this league where I am going to have silver king 1888 its call 2 team some city 1893 giants and 1933 Yankees should be fun lots room in there if you want join

Good luck with Silver! It can be very frustrating trying to get those innings out of him. I suggest a pitch count of 130-135 and making all your relievers available no earlier than the 9th inning.
4/22/2017 2:07 PM
thank you I don't think I will give him that many pich count I have a 2 man starting rotactan and 8 pichters in the bullpen and 2 of tham can start if I need tham I think I have 2 many innings 1,894 but money wise I couldn't help it $160 mil
