My latest (and I think last) Silver King attempt at the wins record is pretty much dead in the water. He's lost five starts in a row, is 24-11 after 67 games (on pace for 58 wins). Hasn't pitched badly, but the offense scored a grand total of ONE run in those five games. And this is a stacked part-time lineup (led by three Ted Williamses) that only plays when Silver starts.

The Silver King OL team is finished. It was a flop, he didn't come close to the record for wins. He finished 57-24.

I got him to 788.2 innings, but had to start him tired in 24 of his 93 starts.

69 times he started at 100%, and was a very disappointing 47-14.

24 times he started between 64-75%, and was 10-10.

I've already started another team to make one more run with Silver at the wins record. So far he's 8-1 in 18 games, on pace for 72 wins. Already lagging behind!
Latest Silver King attempt at the wins record is done. Better than the above result, but still not close to the record.

776.1 IP in 98 starts, he went 63-20.

In 65 starts at 99-100%, he went 48-16.

In 33 starts at 62-70%, he went 15-4.

I targeted the weaker teams for Silver's back-to-back starts, which explains his pretty good record when tired (I had him on a much lower pitch count in these starts, hence the large number of no-decisions, which frustratingly were mostly wins as the offense would kick in late).

Once again, I was disappointed in how he did at 99-100% -- with his RL stats and the stacked lineup behind him, I figured he would win over 90% of those starts (not 74%).

Maybe people already knew this, but there's a product in the break room at my work called Silver King. I assume it never breaks and can be abused.

Could you have success with Silver in higher salary cap leagues ? I like $255 mill cape or $180 mill.

Sure, but he's not as good as the equivalent 3 or 4 pitchers (Maddux, Pedro, Matty, etc) so there's less need, unless you're in some kind of draft league.

Indeed. The best league for Silver King is a high-cap/no-cap draft league. He basically lets you not draft half the pitchers you otherwise would need to, while still being very good. At least not as early. But he's nothing particularly special as a pitcher when you can just pick.

Any advice for using Silver King? I’m assuming cuz he has 704 IP, I can draft the minimum innings and abuse him. So like, is there a pitch count y’all use? Or do you just make him finish the game he started?

No reason to give him a pitch count except maybe to look at in-game fatigue. He's going to come up against appearance fatigue well before he hits pure innings fatigue no matter what you do.

I still see using him in the Superman Long A role as a possibility. Get him in 4-5 innings per appearance, following few low IP starters. He would be the pitcher of record much of the time. Thoughts?

Perhaps go easy on him the 1st 20-30 games till fatigue levels off...

Has there been a theme league for him recently? A quick search turned up none...

I started one today...

I believe the fatigue starts to heavily set in around 110 appearances. He would need to be throwing at least 6 innings a game to really get your money's worth that way

I am going to push him to that 110 mark....we'll see...
