monkee had something like 250 or 300 teams between his two user names.

And they just told him to f*ck off.

That's a good business plan. Really.

Ticket I'm submitting:

There's really only a certain group of owners who play in theme leagues as it is, and you just ran off one who'll buy multiple teams just to keep a league going. And for no specific reason other than it boils down to the fact that you can't take his criticism.

This will have a domino effect. I personally could not stand monkee, but it had nothing to do with his work trying to improve WIS. It was a personal difference regarding draft league behaviors.

So, now that you've banned a guy from posting who had 300-some teams in the NBAsim alone, he's leaving your site.

I assure you, there will be others. Domino effect. I'm taking all of my undrafted teams that I have right now and putting them in an Open league. You will get no more money from me, if this is how you treat loyal customers. I've already seen the lack of customer service - this is just unfathomable.

Sincerely,
Josh (aka ashamael)

Thanks for your comments. This is this owner's fourth ban in less than two years for the same type of offense and he hasn't the site yet. He hasn't even contacted us himself in regard to this current sentence to indicate that he is going to leave. WIS puts very little restrictions on its users but given that there are some who continually choose to ignore past warnings. In other words there are some that feel any rule, or guideline, simply doesn't apply to them. Unfortunately the 'Terms of Use' apply to all and have been applied in regard to this owner.

my response to that:

Quote: Originally posted by seble on 2/01/2010We've made the decision to permanently remove forum posting rights for monkee and his aliases due to a longtime ongoing negativity and disinformation. We've given him a ton of leeway over the years, but I've decided he no longer provides any positive value to the discussions, only negative value. This is not related to one specific post.

He's free to continue playing the games and posting in league forums.

From the words of the admin himself, monkee didn't specifically violate anything.

From the words of the user himself, sitemailed to someone to post in the forums since his other account, monyet was banned from posting, too:

Quote: there were no recent warnings at all. I think it is interesting that out of nowhere and with no warning my posting rights were taken away because 'I dont bring any positive value' to the proceedings - I believe this act of petulatance to be seble's decision. I dont think he liked my statements about him in the 'thoughts about seble' thread but since they were echoed by just about everybody he couldnt call them out 'specifically' or he would have to call out the entire community."

seble is clear in his message above that he takes responsibility for this decision. I'm just asking to be directed to any existing detail on what constitutes appropriate forum discussion.

Any of you who've paid attention to my (fairly infrequent) posts in these threads have probably clued into the fact that I have little patience for belligerent and insulting input that's more than likely to be counterproductive. I'm interested in seeing the WISNBA game live a long life and improve over time, and that can't happen without a productive and respectful two-way relationship between staff and customers.

I support WIS' right to ban any of us from posting on their site. However, if a long-time customer is going to be hit with a permanent ban, it really raises the question of what kind of behavior is acceptable. If it's clearly spelled out, then we can all choose to conform or not and if we don't we have no right to be surprised by the consequences. Having some kind of protocols clearly spelled out somewhere also gives the staff better recourse, and insulates them (at least somewhat) from accusations of partiality and censorship.

So I asked again, have I missed something somewhere?

What it boils down to is that seble and monkee have a problem. Seble gets ****** at the constant ripping monkee gives him and the sim (which IS justified), and decides to "ban" monkee for something he "did" on a weekend where monkee wasn't even around. Oh, look, that's his fourth ban, he's perma-banned.

You have an admin that's abusing his power, who also ignores the community (wisnba) he represents. He comes to the forum less than rarely (I define rarely as once every couple of months - we went 6 months without hearing from him most recently).

I have been very verbal with this particular admin about the ****-poor state wisnba sim is in, as well, so I can only worry that my posting rights are going to be taken away, too.

Unless I see some positive changes within the cycle of a full sim-season, I too will be leaving this site (monkee is playing his last team in a theme league he's been a part of as long as it's been going, often buying two teams to make sure the league will stay full since the sim's poor condition has driven so many owners off).

The simleague basketball community has been repeatedly ignored, and then scoffed at and publicly insulted by the very people that are supposed to run things and represent us, and I'm fed up with it. Now the few of us that are see an incident like this? Seriously?

Customer Support my ***.

ashamael, you have a right to your opinion, but you have no idea about the full extent of my history with e-monk. All you guys see is his version of things, and he clearly has a way of twisting words to fit his agenda. There comes a point where it doesn't benefit anyone for him to post here.

I did not ban him from the site, so that's his choice to quit playing the games.
