Nobody is gonna run away with the Central. If Soriano hits like a $8M player, we'll be okay. If he hits like an $18M player, he's MVP. The bullpen and that crappy middle of the IF are big questions. The starting pitching looks really solid so far, Z's asswipery on opening day notwithstanding.

I think they should either play Baker or move the riot over to second... Fontenot plain sucks. It seems like they ought to have a AAA SS that can at least play the field well.

Sadly enough, three of the four starters had really good outings thus far: Dempster, Wells, and Silva (?!?). But two relievers decided they'd serve up a home run in the 8th to blow a lead.

No doubt; I think the Cubs have been up after 7 innings three times, and only have one win to show for it. That's not a good sign. The bullpen gave up seven or eight runs in the blowout loss, too.

Marmol settled into the closer role quite nicely in August and September last season. 11 of 11 in saves and he was more consistent than when he was the main setup guy.

If he stops relying on his slider and mixes the fastball more, he will be the NL's dominant closer.

Didn't expect much from Silva last night but a very good start, he worked fast and kept his pitch count low.

Would it be too much to ask for that everytime out?
