Why do you always get such a hard on for pitchers with high stamina?

STA is only like the seventh or eighth most important rating for a pitcher bret.

I was, and was willing to pay him probably a good 150% of what I thought he was worth (so maybe double to you experts), and that still wasn't good enough.

we all have different philosophies, but another thing to consider is he's young enough he shouldnt decline during this contract

If you've got the cash, I see nothing wrong with dropping a $10Mil bonus on him.  The problem would be paying him like a #1 or #2 starter for the duration of his contract since that clearly is not what he is.

That was my original thought.  Was willing to pour a lot of upfront money into him if I could have him through his prime years at a reasonable price.  I stayed in the bidding for a while but got uncomfortable with it and took a left turn with my strategy.  Hopefully it works out.
