I've got my first of 3 drafts in 4 days tonight.  Can't wait!  Sadly, I'm drafting from the 12-spot in all of them.
That's not so bad.
Was having this discussion last weekend.  In a 12-team snake draft with no keepers, I think I might prefer picking 12th to any other spot this season.

Reminds me...I need to review the setup/rules for this league I'm in with his dad and his people.  I know there's stuff that annoys me, and I have to remember to draft appropriately on Sunday.
My money league moved towards allowing a flex position on top of two RB and two WR, so I felt it made RB much more valuable. It also does two points per sack, which changes my defensive preferences.

I was in a league a few years ago where they had IDP and gave a point for every tackle and another point for solo tackles. I think me drafting MLB's early won me that league.

What's your position for passing TD's for QB's?  I'm a 4-point advocate myself.
I prefer four because it doesn't make a QB the highest scoring player on each team every week, but others wanted six for continuity or some bullshit. We compromised in my friends and family league for five points.

No, not at all, but I'd have liked to draft from somewhere in the middle at least in one of them.

Just write down 13 guys you like and take the top two, regardless of position. As long as you don't go QB/QB, you'll be fine.

I discovered I'm prejudiced against people with those transitions lenses that make their glasses turn into sunglasses. I assume they're either halfway towards senility or have some other reason for rapidly decreasing brain matter.

I was mocking a guy Sunday.  He was all bitter that a group (led in large part by me) got QB TD's dropped from 6 to 4, and kept saying "if we're going for realism, blah blah, blah."

I was like, first, who said we're going for realism?  "Fantasy" is right in the name of the game.  And second, if you want realism, it should be 6 for a rushing TD and 3 each for the QB and receiver on a passing TD.

This is weird for me to say, but I think he kind of has to take a WR on the first swing, unless people have gone crazy and lopped the top 5/6 off the board.

This is the first time I have ever drafted in 12th spot, so I'm not sure how I am going to approach my picks.

Well, if RB's score a lot more than WR's in that league, then yeah, that really skyrockets RB value.

Really depends on how yards are set up to me.  I just don't want the TD and yard relationship to get too slanted.  I don't really care if QB's are the highest scoring as long as the point differential between them and other QBs is relatively close to the differential at other positions.  If the top QB scores 100 and the tenth QB scores 90 and the top RB score 50 and the twentieth RB scores 40, then the balance is good in my opinion.

Any research I ever did usually had the 12th pick as the third most valuable and middle picks as the least valuable.

I like Greg Jennings this year and I think he'd still have some value in the 3/4 area. But ideally one of his best players will be a non-RB. Brees or Rodgers will probably be in there.  Maybe Johnson and Moss...

The scoring settings are standard, but there is a much sharper drop-off at receiver than RB. You're better off having depth at running back than taking a flier on a reciever.
