I was sitting on a pretty nice proposal to him that definitely trumped yours... I just couldn't figure out whether it made sense financially over the course of the next couple of seasons. I think I can be almost as good while spending less in player payroll.

You got an awesome return since I think that pitcher you traded sort of sucks and the pitcher you got went to a team that isn't a threat to compete with me in the near future. I am pleased.

Yeah, that's a big win for you, 'b0t. You gave up a future good (maybe all-star) 2B/CF and a #4 or #5 starter for a current good (definitely all-star, if used correctly) 2B/CF and a #1 or #2 starter.
