on someone else's team...for me he'd likely have a statue erected in his honor prior to the 1st game of the season...and then of course there would be the restaurant named after him and they'd have the best Italian food around!

That was my original thought.  Was willing to pour a lot of upfront money into him if I could have him through his prime years at a reasonable price.  I stayed in the bidding for a while but got uncomfortable with it and took a left turn with my strategy.  Hopefully it works out.

in my 20 team league - we have a 1K option to carryover your entire team - otherwise it is just 2 keepers and maybe a rookie 3rd carryover which replaces your 1st round pick

is this team worth a 1K carryover

QB - Matt Cassel, Matthew Stafford
RB - Jamaal Charles, LeSean McCoy, Darren McFadden, Jahvid Best, Kevin Smith, Willis McGahee
WR - Jeremy Maclin (would trade for a TE)
TE - Antonio Gates, John Carlson, Dustin Keller
K - Mason Crosby, Josh Brown
DF - New England

normal entry fee, plus moves is around 225

basically have to finish top 3 to get money back (1K)

I wouldn't think so, but what's your feel for how many other teams might lock up their whole squad.

I would say no but that is a pretty weird league.  Having not played in one like it, it is hard to say.

Speaking of which, I have to get to work on prep.  Keeper decisions and whatnot will be here before we know it.

i may or may not end up with him, but i have almost no money committed 3,4, and 5 seasons from now, im not saying it wouldnt be overpaying, but the scenario allows for it

I will see if Lyle Purcell has another good season or two in him instead, and have another 10 mil to play with.
