A bit.   Detroit seemed to have enough horses to win at least 1-2 games.   Truthfully, they didn't hit vs the Yanks but it went unnoticed because the Yanks didn't hit anything.

how the frig did the giants make themselves so deadly in the playoffs recently? 2 years ago panda's on the bench and zito's not on the postseason roster yet they win. this season they lose their mvp of the first 2/3 of the season to suspension yet still sweep a team that should have at least taken one game.

Well, I don't know what a Hurrance is but there's a hurricane bearing down on the northeast.   I think it's going to create a lot of problems in that densely-populated, subway-driven area.  Slow moving storms dumping lots of water is probably bad news.

so a player with no options is dfa with revocable waivers after the trade deadline. he gets claimed by another team. that team wont trade for him. he cannot be assigned back to ml and can't be assigned to minors. must he be released? or will he be released automatically since he can't be assigned anywhere?

Yeah but I couldn't think of anyone else but John Holmes and I'm pretty sure he's teh ded.

I'm not sure who's even available in FA right now.   Definitely need a SP(Pettite is old) and an OF(Swisher won't be back).   No flexibility in the IF.
