I'm not sure I'd call them "unlucky".    The plan was to take a hit last season, clear some cap space and get back in the game this season.   Or at least that's what they sold the fanbase.   I assume they had access to who might/will become a free agent this season.   So, IMO, they're still incompetent.   That said, I don't see anyone I'd spend a ton of money on.  Revis is probably the best out there(or will be) but he really hasn't played in two seasons.   So they should probably just make small improvements at any position they can.  Rather than throwing out one 12m per year deal, throw out 6 2m per year.   Give the people a reason to watch.

I think Denver has taken the "We have Manning for 1-2 more years.  Let's go all out."   So, yeah, Denver is better today than they were yesterday.   Not sure anyone else in the West is.
