I avoid those guys like herpes but, if used as a SP, you could get 5 IP every 10-11 games if he's at least average. So you're probably looking at 80-90 IP. A lot of people use them as short RP throwing an IP at a time. I think that would lower the numbers a bit as you don't have full control of his outings.

I have a couple newly draftee's with the "..If I don't get taken in the first 5 rounds.." Assuming they were taken in the 1st will they sign eventually, added money of course, or is there a chance they won't? Thanks.

I've had a couple who didn't sign but it wasn't in the first round. I think they're the "sign for slot eventually, ask for more, or sorry going to play college football" guys. So I'd say there's a chance they won't.

Does the amateur draft trick work for guys who are asking more money? Can you keep offering them the same deal with a potential for them to accept? Or just ones that have declined the offer for good.

One more question. After the draft, what is it that triggers AI to sign lower level prospects? If I filled my rookie league with inactive guys from High and Low A would AI still sign guys? Is there a certain number I have to sign from the draft so AI will leave it alone? (Trying to save money for the guy from the previous question)

If your minor league rosters are at 20 each(minimum), SIMAI shouldn't sign guys. Unless you did it after SIMMY already noticed you were short in rookie and set to sign them.

I guess it depends on what you mean by "cultivate". I deactivate schlubs that would still be useless with a DITR. Seems I still get useless DITR but I make an effort.

As someone who doesn't put any money into advanced scouting, what do you do when you get a DiTR that projects to 70's and 80's in the important categories but has current ratings of only mid 30's?

Play them. Projections have never meant much to me. I just try to develop the players I think, or hope, who will be BL players.

I meant more so do you put them with the best coaches and hope they can produce and not struggle or do you put them at a lower level where coaches may not be as good but they may not be as over their head?

I treat them the same as any other prospect. Experience appropriate level and give them playing time.
