ASK THE MIKET23 THREAD, PT. 6 Topic

If you had a guy with 95 range, 95 glove, 0 arm strength and 0 arm accuracy and you threw him at CF, would the arm hurt you at all?

A player like that won't exist but we've seen virtually no effect of arm in CF. But we also haven't seen zero arms.

When will there be a ASK THE PJFOSTER THREAD, PT 6. ?

Do you buy this story going around that the NFL is pressuring the Raiders to sign Kaepernick after going easy on them in Rooney Rule decision?
1/23/2018 4:23 PM
Unlikely.

I believe Michael Sam was drafted by the Rams and carried on the prac squad by the Cowboys at the NFL's "urging". I wouldn't be surprised. But, he and Diddy are buying the Panthers, it doesn't make much sense.

What about Pete Gray?

He had one arm

Draft coming up soon. I Have two pretty stellar SPs ranked 1/2.
One is "Probably won't sign. He's determined to finish out his college career." The other will sign for slot.
Throws Age Dur Sta Control Vs L Vs R Vel Gb/Fb P1 P2 P3 P4 P5
Player 1 R 19 29 65 95 78 85 29 49 99 68 62 42 0
Player 2 L 19 22 76 87 100 82 93 53 84 63 65 33 0

The 95 control coupled with the 99 P1 is so tempting, but I think he might cost more than he's worth compared to the drop off to the player #2.

I have about 25M in prospect $, so I could afford Player 1 when he counters (assuming he does). Leaving much less in the IFA $ pool. Or take the type D next season and spend the money not spent on this guy to buy a good IFA.

OR I could take player 2, know he'll sign and have a bunch more left to grab an IFA.

Comparing the two, do you think he's worth spending the extra $ on or should I just get player 2 since the other stats are fairly comparable?

P1 is going to be considerably more valuable over the long run. He'll pitch more quality innings year in and year out. Nonetheless, he's not a game-changer. He's not going to win multiple CY. IMO, I pick #1, hope he doesn't sign, spend my money on a big-time IFA and hope to do better with #2 next season.

Given your history of taking mediocre pitchers, putting them in a pitcher's park and then wondering why you lose 2-1 so frequently, 58 wins and less than 600 runs scored.
21 runs scored, 3-3 record.

Do I still have the touch?

3.5 runs per game is pretty solid for you. As is a .500 record. You didn't lose a thing during your incarceration.

Today, Singer Katy Perry is exactly as old as Thomas Jefferson was on July 4, 1776.

Any general thoughts you have about that?

I know this is Mike's thread, but I couldn't resist.
1) The Declaration of Independence never was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
2) Compare and contrast, for societal importance and relevance in 2018:
......a) "We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal"
......b) "You make me feel like I'm living a, teenage, dream, the way you turn me on"
3) The Jefferson Memorial cost about $40M in 2018 dollars. Katy Perry, showing much greater fiscal restraint than Jefferson, spent only half that much on her estate in the Hollywood Hills.
4) Katy Perry will be eligible to run for President in 2020. If she wins-- and at this point, can you rule any US citizen out?-- she will have accomplished that feat 22 years younger than Jefferson was when elected.

I'd be willing to be more teenagers could pick Katy Perry out of a police line-up than they could Thomas Jefferson.

While that is not a question, you know way too much about Katy Perry for a dude.

Is this the only thing you ever need to know about Katy Perry?
