is there a way to get around a no trade clause for an old player? seems to me even if a player has a no trade clause, if they pass thru waivers they can be traded? if that's not the case, i have an example of that happening.

As I understand it, a player will accept a trade to a better team.  I would not be surprised if a player clearing waivers would then accept a trade.
