Yes.  The cash does not go with the player.

I have been offered a position player who appears to be close to can't miss for my soon to be (I hope) stud reliever. Both players are the same age and same amount of ML service time.  Normally, this would be a no-brainer for me since I would want a 160 game player over a 70 game pitcher but my team lacks pitching and the offense seems OK at the moment.

Do you have any insight that would help guide me?

You pretty much nailed it.   It's all about what you value more and need more.   Since they're both young, both will hold their value thru the 10-11 seasons you're guaranteed to have them.

I have a veteran player with two options in ST on an invite only contract. I'd like to sign and stash him in AAA, but when I try to, the transaction screen labels him as assigned to ML, and warns me that I have to put him on the 40 as well. Is the game telling me that he's refusing an assignment to AAA and choosing to go back into free agency?

ST only implies BL contract.    I believe there a minor league with ST invite option.   That's what you should have given him to send him to the minors on a minor league deal.    You can still sign him to the BL deal and ship him to AAA.   But you're paying 327k and you have to put him on the BL team(designate him after that to remove him from the 40 if you need the spot).

Thanks. My mistake for not checking my options when I signed him. I was able to fix it just now - I released the player and he did not have to clear waivers to go back into FA, so I signed him to a minors deal. May I leave this here just as an FYI to anyone who might want to know this in future?

Sure.  You finished with a question.

Dear MIke
....what is the best extra base generator...power or speed...I play in Olympic stadium and have only two guys with power over 85. But I got a lot of speedy and decent base runners. I want to utilize the park to its full advantage.

For extra bases combined(2B/3B/HR), it's power.    Moderate power(50-70) and good speed(70+) can generate as many doubles as high power/low speed.    Triples seem to be a little more speed based but I don't have many low power(sub 30) guys so power may play a part in those also.

That is not a question.

whoops I meant . Do I need to tweak this team and get some more power to take advange of my ballpark or stick to the dink and dunk method of singles and aggressive baserunning?

There's more than one way to skin a cat.   A single and a SB is the same as a double.

This guy Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Aramis Padilla is going to have about as many doubles as this guy Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Kevin Ryu with a couple more triples and a lot less homers.  However, add his 19 SB(while removing his 4 CS) and he has 32/3/9 to 15/0/25.  Or 109 extra bases to 130.   That's 76/75 SP/BR to 16/36 with a substantial difference in power.

will this be the question that pushes the thread to page # 800?

Time will tell.

For next season in Coop, I'm thinking of scoring more than 0.32 runs per game in crunch time.
Any suggestions for making that happen?
