He might not even get near the ball. I used a 73 range natural 2B in CF for about a season and a half, while waiting for my current CF to develop in the minors. (This was also before I clued in that the Recs aren't sufficient for CF performance.) I didn't realize how bad he was till I saw he'd set the world's record for poorest range factor. I was probably giving up two extra hits per game because of him.

Does that add anything to your analysis?

I assume you speak of  Hardball Dynasty – Fantasy Baseball Sim Games - Player Profile: Pat Chen.   His RF of 1.85 should be compared to about 2.40 for an average CF.   So, had he played the full 162, he'd have cost you 90 hits plus his negative plays(which is surprisingly low, IMO). 

So does this mean the 74/94 player is pretty much worthless?

He doesn't have the arm for right field, he's left handed, thus ruling out the infield, and he's not a great hitter, so LF isn't an option either.
I was hoping he could just be a warm body to save me some cash that I could spend elsewhere.

Defensive replacement in LF/1B.    He's just not going to cut it in CF. 

I guess it depends.   Certainly not enough negative plays(only 15-20), IMO, but the RF seems to drop substantially.    Haven't really looked at LH RF at 3B in awhile but, as I recall, they ranged from 2-2.5 while the average 3B hovered around 3.25.   .75-1.25 per game is quite a few less plays being made.  150 less outs from a 3B is a lot over a 162 game season.
