I've never done that on a "test the market no matter what" guy. I'd be interested to know because you can't beat max contract. "Unless you blow me away" guy will sign for the right price. Generally 1 extra year and 25-30% more per year than he's asking.

If you played him only against lefties, he wouldn't be too bad. As a full-time player, maybe .650 OPS. Probably lower if he only see LH pitching 30% of the time.

i.e. a max contract guy? I read yesterday that the relevant coaches (hitting coach for position players, pitching coach for pitchers) and ballparks (pitchers want pitchers' parks, hitters want hitters' parks) are the tie breakers, but wondering about the other two variables.

Yes, they are variables and I'm pretty sure those two are heavier than coaching/ballparks.

Drunken theory by me last night:

pitch calling directly effects the frequency a pitcher will use pitch 1 more then pitch 2 and so on and so fourth. So a catcher with PC 100 would have all pitchers using P1 70% of the time P2 10% and so on based off the number of pitches the pitcher has, where as a catcher with PC 30 may have a pitcher use P1 20% P2 30% and so on.

No. He's not really "calling pitches". The PC is just a variable in the equation. A multiplier if you will. Drunk theories are fun but usually wildly inaccurate.

Does training affect injury recovery? I have a 33yr old SP in another world who had a huge injury last season that killed him this year. Will my 20 training help recover some of the loss? I assume that MEDICAL affects duration of injury and the recovery while on DL and training combined with Make up affects longetivity?
